- •Please make sure that your turntable has a PHONO output. A LINE OUT turntable has a built-in preamp and it won't work well with T7.

Nice sounding little pre-amp. The only thing that I would change is to put the aux input on the rear. Currently on the front. Does what it should for the price.

I used this as a phono pre amp for my turntable, so if you don't plan on using it the way I did than this review might not help you out.
So I wanted to upgrade from my BBE FJB-200X Phono Preamp and after searching around for a while I stumbled across this beauty. I looked at the reviews and mostly they were positive. So I decided to pull the trigger and buy separate tubes for it.
Once I got it all setup properly, I turned it on and it sounded completely muffled. I unplugged everything and hoped it was faulty setup on my side and tried it out once more without any progress. So I read online and saw some people saying the tubes need to be "burned in". So I turned it on and let it sit for 6 hours and still the same result. I even tried using the stock tubes and it still gave me the same result. I took this as maybe it was just defective but after doing some more research I saw that there's a black version and most reviews had the same issue as I did. Unfortunately this was a too good to be true situation.

We run a 1970's turntable through a portable sound system that normally just plays digital music.
This unit is well made for the cost and operates well, we have the ground connected to the record player and there is no hum.
The tubes take just a few seconds to warm up then they play well. The sound is much better than expected.
I like that it has an on/off and the sound connectors are gold plated.
If you want to keep the sound of the vinyl go tube pre-amp.
I would highly recommend this product.
