The extension cable works great. But something to take note of, if you are planning to connect the extension cable to the main adapter/controller of the Philips Hue base, you'll need to buy the Direct-to-Controller cable or else, you'll be left like me. Speechless and having to do a second purchase and delivery.
Not clear how to configure

I want to hide the Hue power adapter and controller in a closed cabinet and run just this extension cord visibly in a bookshelf. I also bought the direct-to-controller adapter. But the Hue lightstrip has the pigtail permanently connected to it, and there's no way to configure the extension cord between the controller and the adapter. Am I missing something? How do I get a configuration with Controller-->extension cord-->lightstrip?

Does exactly what was expected. I wanted to span Hue Lightstrips across two wall shelves, without having to have light going vertically between the shelves. Does the job. there's still a cable running between the shelves obviously, but at least it's not lights. When I first plugged them in, the 'extended' strip didn't work so I was worried. But I unplugged and turned the cable over, and it came right on.

I used this extension with Hue lightstrips under my cabinets. My cabinet lengths varied so I had to cut the lightstrip into a couple pieces by following some directions found online. It was super easy using this cable and soldering connectors onto the lightstrip where I cut it.
