First of all, I like the leather tooling and overall look of the suspenders. No complaints from that standpoint. Not cheap. Not flashy. Just what I hoped for in general terms without having seen them prior to ordering. They appear to be sturdily constructed and the clasps that attach to the beltloops seem to be of good quality plus look nice and are shiney.
What surprised me was the sizing.
I am 6'0", nearly 280lb, with a large chest and broad shoulders. While I have a belly, I don't have a huge one compared to most guys of my height and weight. Still, I thought that the XL (the largest of the 3 available sizes) would be the right size. Wrong. In fact, they were nearly too big. There are only 3 holes to make adjustments in the leather straps on the front. 4 or 5 would have been better. Even after I adjusted it to its shortest length, the stretchy, wide part in the back that goes from where the two front suspender parts meet in the back (at the leather pentagon) down to the belt loop on the back of the pants, the suspenders were, amazingly, too big. I was going to send them back but decided instead to fold in half that stretchy part... shortening it by 2-3 inches... and then sew it together. Once I did that, it fit just fine. Doesn't look perfect from the back? No, if you examine it closely, I suppose, since it is a tad too close to the pants. But, I'm not worried about people looking at my lower back that closely.
The XL is listed as 32", which is indeed the actual length from the tip of the front of the suspender over the shoulder to the back where both tooled parts meet at the lower back at the leather pentagon. What I find odd is that the Large is only 2 inches shorter at 30" and the Medium is only 2 inches shorter than the Large at 28". I can't imagine what a man who is, say, 5'6" and 140lb., would wear since surely, the Medium must be far too big if they're only 4 inches shorter than my XL pair.
So....should I have returned the XL for a Large? Assuming that it was actually 2 inches shorter, yes, that would have been ideal. But, everything is fine with my unprofessional sewing job (my mom would have been so proud).

Well made, comfortable and a perfect fit. I'm 5'9" 170 lbs, ordered a large and didn't even need to adjust it as it came out of the package. Leather is nice, stitching is perfect and hardware seems very sturdy. Would buy again.

Husband has been wanting some of these for a while. And loves them.

The only thing I disliked was that the product was over 72.00 and there was a tag on the suspenders that read $60, I expected to pay the 72 and feel that the tag should have been taken care of by the provider.
