Tripod foot resists falling when not in-hand, but the foot joint is pretty noisy.
Mea✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 6, 2018
I like this cane pretty well. The tripod foot makes it easier sometimes to tip the cane against something when not in use and it's less likely to fall over than my monopod canes. The handle is fine and it folds as well as any other. I don't use the flashlight often and didn't buy it specifically because it had a flashlight, but it comes in handy sometimes and is a nice touch. I get a lot of comments about the flashlight and people thinking it's cool.

The downside is that it's really noisy. It makes sort of a loud slapping sound and then has sort of a spring creak sound. I know that the spring or whatever it is is in there to help the joint between the tripod and cane pivot and roll and that definitely helps with a more natural walk with less strike shock, but I also feel like everyone can hear me coming a mile away with that slap/high squeak combo echoing down halls. I wish I could get the stable-foot-so-the-cane-won't-fall-over-constantly benefit of this cane with the no-creaky-sound-effects of other canes.
Very sturdy, convenient and easy to use, lighted area moves up and down when walking.

I took this cane when I traveled to Guatemala last year. I used it on cobble stone streets, up and down flights of stairs, on a dirt road up and down the side of a volcano and when climbing into and out of a motor launch. Worked great. I especially appreciated that I could fold it up and slip it into my tote bag when I didn't need it. It was plenty sturdy for all these challenges.

Just a note--I used the flashlight when I had to get up at night and also when we went out for dinner at night. I should have expected it, but didn't. Standing still, the light from the cane lit the ground about 4 feet ahead, spread wide enough to reach my feet. But when I walked, the lighted area swung up in the air then down to my feet, depending on where I was in my stride.
Dammit Jim, I'm a cane, not a flashlight!

The cane itself is pretty snazzy. Good design, easy and comfortable to use. The light worked for, and this is no exaggeration, about 1 minute before failing. Installed batteries, check. Pressed button, light came on, cool! Pulled sections apart to see how easy it was to do, then straightened it out and pressed light button again. Nothing. Changed batteries again, you know, just in case. Nothing. At least it works as a cane.

Didn't feel very secure. The cane appeared to be slightly bending when in use, even when my 14 year old son attempted it. Also, it was extremely difficult to pull apart to disassemble/collapse. It was like the joints were pushed together too tightly after being used. I needed my husband to pull it apart for me and he struggled with it too. Sending it back.
It’s foldable makes it easy to store in a pouch

There is a build-in LED flashlight in the walking stick. Have to put two your own AAA batteries in and makes it works. The stick is able to stand alone cause the tri-leg design.
It's foldable makes it easy to store in a pouch. Take it to anywhere you want.
My wife got back pain days ago when bathed for my LO. It helps her walking down the stairs.
There are 5 height to adjust, fits most people. The handle is comfortable while holding.
I think the walking stick is good for travel and hiking. Worth it.
