I bought this to put a large Rubbermaid in that was on a cargo rack for my hitch. While it didn't rain except once on my cross country drive, when it did, it kept the Rubbermaid inside dry. I used the straps that came with it along with two other adjustable straps. Only thing I can say is I think the straps that come with it will probably dry rot pretty easily.

Just got back from a 3 month trip, to Alaska and used this bag on our trailer cargo carrier to carry a portable generator, and other misc items. We went through all kinds of weather from, wind, rain, hail, and dust and it traveled approximately 12000 miles on back of the trailer. The bag did a good job keeping things clean and dry inside. There were no issues with deterioration of the bag. Zipper and latches all worked as intended with no issues. As the cargo carrier only had aluminum slats for the bottom surface, I places a piece of 1/4" plywood on the bottom just to give even support to the carrier, so the portable generator rubber feet wouldn't damage the bag. Overall I'm very happy with the quality and durability of the carrier bag.
