I got this to place on the lid of my tundra truck bed. for this configuration just put the included straps under the lid. close the lid. put the bag on top. place everything inside. close the zippers . loop the straps around the handles on the sides. duct tape the strap together. no need for clips or anything else to hold in place. never moved once during a five hour trip up winding roads to Hume lake and back.

This was a great luggage carrier that we used for a trip in our Honda Pilot. It held up great in did its job, however we do not have rails on our car for a luggage rack. It was advertised to be used on cars without luggage racks also with clips they were included for this type of a vehicle. The clips only worked if we closed ourself up in the car unable to get out. We had to come up with a way to temporarily secure it so that we could get to the store to buy bungee cords to extend from one window to another (just over our heads). This worked great but was a little time consuming to figure out as we were trying to get on the road for our vacation. Otherwise it held up well and served it's purpose.

Looks just like the picture. Drove two hours each way for our trip-camping with family. 1 strap was already broken off of the bag right out of packaging, everything else was still intact. I had thought maybe the 20 cu ft was too big, for a family of 5, but it was perfect. We were able to pack so... much in this bag and make room for heavier items in the car. Love that part! Used the bag with roof rack. Family drove behind us and said that the bag sat securely on top without noticing that it was moving while we drove, so basically it sat securely. Glad the bag came with nonslip mat and all those extra straps to secure it. Thick material- reminds me of a very thick plastic, or thick rubberlike material (smooth feel), I don't recall what it's made out of. If it's hot and the sun is out, the bag does get hot to the touch while it's on top of the car because of the material, so just be a tiny bit cautious when touching it to unzip to unload items in bag. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Have not had to use it in the rain, so I don't know how it will hold up and if it will be 100% waterproof. If I ever do, I will add to my review.
