I was really surprised first day when my rug keep perfectly attached to the floor. Unfortunately it was only 1st day. The next day my walk on and two corner took off. I stick them back for a couple of days, but now it's completely unusable. I always read the reviews before any online purchase. This product doesn't have to bad reviews and that's why I purchased. However, it was not as expected.

I am forced to give this crappy product a star I don't want give this product a star. I had my hardwood floors refinished two months ago and used these on a chef kitchen Matt to stop it from sliding. They took the layer of polyurethane off the floor. Not only did it destroy the floor but I cannot get them off the Matt. I tried to remove and it's ripping the Matt. I am discusted! Now I have to pay to have my floors fixed and now the new Matt I just bought is useless because I cannot put it back down on the floor!!

Great product. Unique idea. These 'grippers' are made of a thin piece of plastic with two different adhesives on each side; One side (towards the rug) is designed to stick (~permanently) to the rug, and the over side is a re-usable sticky silicon-like substance that 'sticks' to the floor but is not permanent. I cleaned the underside of my rug, where the grippers will be placed, with a lint roller to make sure there is a clean surface to stick to. and I cleaned my laminate floor with a damp towel and dried it.
I installed them this way:
Simple peel off the protective film for the sticker side to the rug; place rug in location and pressed firmly to the floor (with out uncovering the silicon floor side of the gripper). I wanted to make sure the adhesive side of the product was well stuck before I uncovered the floor side so I would not have to un-stick the product from the floor if I placed the rug in the wrong location. I uncovered the silicon side once I got the grippers installed on all corners.
Place the rug (a 5' runner in my hallway) where I needed it, and removed the protective film on the silicon/floor side of the product and pressed them in place.
Right away the runners in my hallway are securely in place and no longer do I feel like they are moving under my feet. But my cats are bummed out, no more run and sliding on them.
This is a much better product then those rug mats.

Have now used these rug grippers for about 4 months and they have not budged an inch! I adhered them to a 100% wool rug that has no backing and stuck it to a shiny oak wood floor. I have vacuumed the rug several times, rolling over the corners and sides and there has been no curling or sliding. I've also pulled the rug up and moved it and it stayed put again right after that and there was no residue! Even stood up to "couch-ploppers" who kick the rug out every time they sit down. Highly recommend!
UPDATE:
It's been nearly a year and I have moved the rug around (to and from different rooms) about eight to ten times. The grippers leave no residue when lifted and the corners never peel off the back of the rug itself. Most of the time, you can pick up and re-stick the rug without a problem but occasionally it will move after being re-stuck. When this happens, I wet a paper towel and wipe down the sticky part of rug-gripper that adheres to the floor, let it dry a few seconds and push it back down. It sticks like new again. No shifting. Highly highly recommended,
