Great oil but know this!

Bought this oil to use therapeutically. To drink up to 2 ounces a day. I will only use for cooking now, and happy with it, love Mediterranean blends and chose Amazon Fresh for the price. It is a great oil, but you should know if you plan to drink or dip in this oil that the quality is so good it contains a lot of much of the components from EVVO needed to cause throat irritation as a reaction that activates a pain receptor called TRPA1 in the back of the throat. I will use for cooking but use a good store brand of EVVO to use to drink and make dipping oil for breads. You may not have the same experience, as it burned my throat moderately. Some like the sensation, but I get a what they call an ibuprofen taste that goes with the burning in the back of my throat. (while drink/tasting raw) So your oil is not bad if you get this sensation.......UPDATE. I mixed the Amazon EVVO Mediteranian with lemon juice, honey, cayenne etc. and was pleased with the tatse. The pain reaction I spoke of was hardly present and actually pleasant if it was not from the cayenne pepper. So I revise that this oil should be good for therapeutic use (drinking) Also I will not be afraid to use to make salad dressing now. I will have to try to make a bread dipping oil with garlic and spice and see how that is. I am thinking it will be OK now. ENJOY!!!! All this ado about nothing. LOL We may have learned something though, This is great EVVO!!!!
Excellent buy

I tried the Mediterranean blend, and I think that they put in the mix (a lot of) questionable origins oil, the taste was like rust, very metallic. After all it was a "blend" they didn't have to specify from where. I am Italian born, exactly from Liguria, and there they have one of the best evoo in Italy, so tasty and so light. So I tried the Amazon Italian evoo, but I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise it tasted *genuine* a real honest to goodness evoo. It is bitter as soon as you taste it, but my mother who is a super fine evoo connoisseur, assured me that all genuine evoos, when they are especially fresh, taste bitter and this is a sign that they are the real thing. I stay away from the Pompeian brand because that's a blend too e some of the Countries of origin are very questionable, what are the laws in that Country that would enforce a real purity of the actual product. And who tells me that in order to keep the price low, they are using mostly the questionable oils, with just a drop or two of good oils so they can legally say it is a *blend*. No blends for me, I buy only the unique origin, in this case from Italy. I used the Colavita before but now, at $49 a bottle it's out of question. But I had a way to ascertain that this Amazon Italian evoo tastes just the same.
Nice taste and great value

Olive oil is getting hard to find and more expensive when you do find it.
For everyday use we used to go to Trader Joes, but the priced went up and now they don't even sell the large bottle anymore. The small bottle is overpriced.
Decided to give this a try and its much better than expected. Taste was very good IMO.
The origin for the olives may change, for example the photos here show Spain, Italy and Greece.
The one I got was Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and Tunisia.
Not an issue, but they should be more clear on that.
Its Mediterranean so - that covers a lot of ground.

This is better than I expected for the price. Very affordable and good quality, good peppery taste on the back end. I bought the Italian version. I buy expensive olive oil for the high polyphenols and thought I'd try this just to see and I'm impressed enough to order more. Not sure what it's polyphenol content is but it does have the peppery burn on the back of the throat. Not really strong like Olive From The Raw but noticeable for sure! Great deal on this.
