This mat arrived on Monday, it is now friday, and still not flat enough to put my chair on it. I had luckily got a heavy shipment the same day, so left that item in its box as a way to weight it down, but still not laying flat and as I dont have any other heavy items to use, its taking up my other shipment as i need a weight... I am a strong 300 pound person, and it took me all my might and effort to get this unrolled, i had to lay on the floor with it, and roll it bit by bit, and then reach out and drag my heavy item onto the mat for if I had tried to get off the ground it wouldve sprung back into a roll. It is relatively flat now, but still not enough to be at desk in full use without it being a tripping hazard.
Furthermore, the mat has no difference in sides, so there is nothing to keep it in place on my hardwood, such as flat rubber grips or something. It is labeled "for hard floors" right in title, but it just slides like butter across the floor. Im sure itll be fine for when im just sitting still with small movements with my weight holding it down, but if i happen to roll off the mat to grab something, i wont beable to get back on without it sliding and worry of mat movement if i were to walk across it etc.

Be advised, it will come rolled up in a box and you will have to warm it up before you will be able to try to get it to lay on the floor for your chair. It will be sticking up all over. As long as you warm it up first and you have 2 people to push it down to the floor, it will now become somewhat workable. Now you need a hair dryer set on high heat and you will need to sit on top of the chair mat and starting from one end begin heating the plastic until you see it settle to the floor. You must continue this procedure working your way all the way down to the other end heating it so it sits flat to the floor. Once you finish this task, your chair mat will work just fine.

This is it. Yes, they roll it up for shipping. No, it doesn't take long to lay flat.
I rolled it out and put a chair on each corner for the morning. By noon I installed it at my desk.
By the following day the corners laid down perfectly flat without a hair dryer.
Very pleasant experience for me.

Product is incredibly difficult to unroll and there's some sort of grease or lubricant on the mat which is either the source of the odor or the mat itself has a strong odor. Flattening this out to a usable state is another real pain. I've put it under heavy weights, but it still isn't flat. It serves my needs and the mat itself is up to the quality I expected, but I am not happy with this purchase for the reasons of being a royal pain in the ass to unroll and flatten. I suggest going to Costco to buy a flat one for more money. In hindsight, I would.

I purchased this because we have hardwood laminate throughout our house. My wife uses our formal dining room as an office and the chair was tearing up the floor. I started my search for a chairmat.

This one says it was for hardwood but will not stay still when moving the chair. The chairmat moves along with the chair which caused her to almost fall out of the chair. I'd suggest a different mat.
