This preamp significantly reduce the audio level of the original input source. You would think it would amplify the audio level of the input signal to a louder cleaner sound, but it didn't.

OK its cheap so there was low expectation. It arrived with a broken valve but there was spare one so popped them in. Plugged it all in and there was a constant loud buzz that increased whenever I touched any part of the amp, some serious earthing issues.
I used a turntable via a phono amp to this pre amp and then onto a powered speaker. plugging the phono amp direct to the speakers it all worked so nothing wrong with speakers, phono amp, or turntable.
Also note the name on the amp is a Chinese name and not as pictured in the photo.

Beautiful preamp. Bought this for a system that had powered monitor speakers. OMG did this preamp with the upgraded tube make those speakers not only sing....but I think they roared as well. For under $100 with the upgraded tubes, you can't beat this. The sound that I get from this preamp, compares to some of my other tube preamps that cost several hundred dollars more. This is a steal.

Sounds great in my stereo setup, it is connected between an Emotiva XDA-1 DAC and Emotiva USP-1 preamp. . The main thing for me is no more ear fatigue, as I find that I am sensitive to high frequencies of digital (CD) music, this tube preamp makes the music I already like even better!! The sound quality far exceeds it's price point. a great value! I switch the supplied tubes with Riverstone Audio - Matched Pair (2 Tubes) 7-Pin GE JAN 5654W and now it sounds even better! Highly recommended!!
