This is a life saver. I bought this for my 95 years old mom when she lost her hearing on both ears. There was no other way to talk to her if it wasn't because of this device. With this device we talk to her in normal voice. It does pick up the sound from the environment which is annoying, but if you are in a room at home or with few people around, she can hear everyone and have a normal conversation with them. It has volume control. One clever feature of this device is, my mom can turn the volume control knob but had a hard time to turn it all the way for it to click off, but as I see it if you turn it off all the way without the click, the light turns off which I hope it means it is off, but I am not sure. Otherwise a great device.

My father-in-law has dementia and loses or breaks his expensive hearing aids. Although the VA will replace them, since he had a stroke making the trip to take care of that became very difficult. We ordered this amplifier and he's very happy with it. It's cheap enough for me to keep a spare on hand, but large enough that he doesn't lose it. It's not perfect but is adequate for him to hear us and he just pulls out the earbud if he doesn't want to hear what's going on around him.

I bought this for my brother who is practically deaf. He is also "intellectually disabled" and his hearing aids were no longer working. It was at the doctor's office I learned about this product, which I appreciated as I could have spent another $3,000 for hearing aids that would mostly not be worn and certainly not properly cared for. I learned he goes and fetches it when he really wants to hear what someone is saying..

Extremely easy to use for my 93 year old I-still-have-all-my-faculties (NOT) mother-in-law. Battery life is good and the device is very durable. How do I know this? Many times she forgets to turn it off at night. The batteries still manage to last for several weeks. Sometimes she gets mad that she can't do the things she used to be able to do and throws the device across the room. Hasn't been able to kill it yet. This is the third device of this type we have tried but due to multiple controls they have all been too complicated for her to use except this one.

Reizen Loud Ear 110dB Gain Personal Amplifier works well with the one earplug included if you only need it turned on low. The louder you turn it, the more white noise you hear. This could be the product or it could be my hearing. I use it to watch TV when my spouse is reading in the same room. I have not tried a head set or 2 earbuds.
