One of those products that is hit-or-miss, depending on the dog

I think this is one of those products that is hit-or-miss, depending on the dog. I read a lot of reviews and knew that this wasn't going to instantly stop the barking on it's own. You have to condition your dog to recognize what you're trying to do, and so I was prepared to do some work. However, the first time I pushed the button on this, our lab-blue heeler mix immediately grabbed the closest toy, shook it like he was trying to murder it, and ran out of the room while play-growling. After making a circuit of the interior of our condo, he ran back into the room and barked at ME instead of the dog next door. Subsequent attempts yielded similar results.

Part of our problem is probably that our dog isn't a persistent bark, in that he doesn't bark nonstop once he starts. It's one bark, a pause to see what the thing he's barking at is going to do, another bark, pause, and so on for a minute or two.

So far, it's working well. When my dog starts barking, I simply turn this on and say "No barking!" She hears the tone (that I don't hear) and stops barking. It's a good training tool.

We live in the country and I got this for my daughter since she enjoys to run and I'm concerned about any dogs she encounters.... We tried it at home and tuned it on and it made our dog run out of the room....hopefully she never has to use this but it gives me a better piece of mind.

We had a boy from our neighborhood get attacked by a dog while riding his bicycle, so ever since I have been very cautious when me and my son are outside playing. I purchased this so I'd have a piece a mind, and I'm glad I did! It actually really works!!!

It works. It's comical to watch the dogs stop barking in mid-stream and look around to find the sound. I just wish I didn't have to go to where they are to press the button. It would be sweet if it just went off when they bark.
