I have hearing loss in my left ear due to a diving accident many years ago. I had my hearing tested by a professional who said I begin to hear in that ear at 65 dbi (sound level of a lawn mower running). I didn't want to spend the $2,000+ on a hearing aid, since my right ear has perfect hearing, so I decided to try this hearing amplifier. The built-in charger is not a smart charger, meaning that it will continue to try and charge the battery even when full, so you must disconnect it once the green light indicates the battery is full or you will ruin the battery fast. 2-3 hours is about all that is needed for charging. The tube to the ear insert is a larger than I would like, but my family says it is only noticeable to me. I had some problems with too much background noise with the first hearing amplifiers I received. Kaven, my contact person then sent me replacements which were much better. One of the replacement amplifiers then failed and Kaven sent some replacement tubes with installation instructions and the amplifiers are now working fine. In summary, I am happy with amplifiers. I hope I do not have any other problems. The service Kaven provided was outstanding.

So far, this is the best hearing aid I've ever had. It's hard to believe how much hearing I've actually lost until I take it out. If it lasts I will be so happy. It's not at all like those cheap rechargable ones. The noise reduction makes an enormous difference in the quality of sound. It reminds me of the way I used to hear. I've only used it for four days. I'll be so mad if it poops out on me. If I could hear this way all the time it would be the best. Takes less than 2 hours to fully charge. Doesn't hurt my ear, and doesn't make my ear itch. Almost too good to be true.

This review is not so much about the device itself, but about the fabulous customer service from the seller! This hearing device has several settings for volume, and each is easily discernable. It also is supposed to have "noise cancelling" capability, which limits background noise, but honestly, I could not tell the difference between the on and off settings. This is what made me look further for another amplification device. I did feel that being rechargeable was a plus, but found that when the charge was running down, the sound became fuzzy. If it had batteries, I could have just popped in another. Anyway...The sound tube and domes that came with the device were quite uncomfortable for me. I contacted the company, and they sent me other domes with a different type of sound tube, which was very comfortable. The device is light, and even though I wear glasses, was barely felt on my ear. I did order two amplifiers from another company and am trying them now, but am not returning this one, as it will be ok for a backup if the new ones have trouble. Be patient, Give it time to get used to the sound and feel of the device. I would recommend this particular device for watching tv, or one on one conversations. In situations where you need to dampen the background noise, not so much. But customer service is great!! 10 stars for that!!

I bought this just to try out a device before looking for a hearing aid. I find it really good fit for me. It is taking a little to get use to it but I personally think I will just stay with this instead of sinking money into the expensive models. It does the job the ear fit is excellent and a lady in the office whose husband works for a hearing aid company wasn't even aware I was using one.
