I haven't used it for very long, but it is good so far. I prefer no steam hole on top, but I ordered it anyway. I wish it would fit a bit smaller fry pan (the measurement is off by about a 1/4 inch), but it works okay anyway. I thought I would take a chance that my measurement was off a tiny bit, but it doesn't fit snuggly, and the glass lid part sits on top of the rim. Otherwise, it is handy and saves space in the cupboard because I don't need a bunch of heavy lids taking up space. I may post an update after using it for several months. I hope it lasts.

This is a handy lid for the miscellaneous pots I have that have no lids. Fits them very well and the glsss is useful as is the steam vent. The only caveat is that when placed on a pot with simmering, steaming food, even on low heat, the lid adheres strongly to the pot, so much that I need two hands and two pot holders to remove it. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't like my hands that close to a steaming pot. Can't remember any glass or metal lid sticking this tight.

This is the second lid of this type I've purchased and it has proven to be every bit as solid as the first. Make sure you measure your pans for an optimal fit. Worth noting that because of how the graduations are molded into the circumference of the pan, the lid will sit lower on a large pan than a factory lid. Smaller sizes of pans do this as well, but you lose so little clearance off the top in those cases that it doesn't matter much. I'll be back for more as needed.

As a bachelor, two pans I use the most are an 8" cast iron skillet and a pan I relegate to "eggs only." Neither had a lid. This Glass Lid Universal has been perfect for both pans. I like the weight and the thickness of the silicon rim, and the vented glass allows me to keep an eye on 'sunny-side up' eggs (Pittsburghers famously call them "dippy eggz") to ensure perfectly cooked whites without overcooked yolks. Very well made. The black part of the lid does soften a little and start to sink in when it gets hot. Hasn't been a problem for me but is something to keep in mind... especially if using the the lid on the biggest size pot that it's compatible with. Still cheaper than buying replacement lid for the high-dollar pot which I had no lids to fit after breaking the original.
