It was wonderfully heavy! I used it with a half umbrella, since all reviews said the half stands weren't adequate enough to keep it from blowing over. We had a bit of a wind storm here in NJ the other day, and my umbrella in a stand table blew over, but not the half umbrella in this stand! Not only does it do the job it was meant to do, but it's actually very pretty too. I'd certainly buy it again if I needed another one!

Very disappointed. The screw (which is too short to begin with) that holds the pole does not stay in the metal piece in the bottom of the pole. Appears to be stripped - it arrived that way. So the umbrella tilts heavily to one side because the pole can't stay up straight. How annoying is it to have to return a 30-pound item?

It is heavy and much better quality than I was expecting (from something purchased on Amazon). Would have given it a full 5 stars, bu there was a small gash on the bottom of the base. Didn't return it or exchange it because its only visible if that side is facing forward. I turned it towards the back and all is well.
Design fail the pole holder is held onto the base with a single screw

Design fail. The base is nice concrete (came with chips, inevitable during shipping) but my biggest grip is, the base comes in two parts the pole holder and the base. the holder has a screen at the bottom which screws onto the base where it almost sits flush. So the full stress of the umbrella is on that single screw. If atleast the pole went into a well in the base so its sides in the bottom has some support around that would have relieved some of the stress. I have a small umbrella on my small patio sheltered with hedges and the house and the base still keeps rocking because of the wind. might send it back.

It works, but disappointed. Easy to put together. Good because no real instrux. Just pix. This looks like an item that had been returned and was recycled to me. The bottom has caked on white concrete. Looks like it was picked up from someone's patio. There is a noticeable chip off the finish on the top. Too much hassle to return this - - weighs 30 pounds and packaging cant be re-used. I have gotten most of the caked up stuff on the bottom off and will use some Rustoleum to cover up the chip. On the pro side: it fits our umbrella well and the wind yesterday was not a problem.
