Great Beginner's Crossbow (Five Month Updated Review)
Trapper Scout✓ Verified Purchase•August 12, 2023
This crossbow is surprisingly very well made. My expectations were low since this is an entry level crossbow, but so far it has performed great.
The Good:
It is Durable. It is a recurve bow, very simple and less things to break than a compound bow. It is also very accurate. To save you all the guess work, I ditched the bolts that it came with and bought 18" Black Eagle Executioner Bolts with 100 grain field tips. As for the the scope, initially, I was going to throw away the one it came with and get a new one instead. However, I decided to give it a try and I found that the scope actually performs decently. It holds zero and together with the aftermarket bolts, I manage to get good shot groups. For those having. trouble sighting it in, here's a tip: use a shooting rest. I personally recommend using the CTK Precision P3 rest. It works great and it doesn't interfere with the path of the string.
The bad:
The only thing bad I found with it was that the sight bridge (the picatinny rail) set too high from the factory. I had to crank the elevation knob on the scope all the way down to get it to zero at only 10 yards. (Fun Fact: The scope is a BDC reticle. a 10 yard zero will make the bolt hit perfectly at 20 yards on the next line below the cross hair). To fix the problem, use the dial on the sight bridge to lower it a few notches before zeroing. Read the manual to learn how to do just that.
Other than that, so good so far. Great Product from Crosman. I will give an updated review in the future after more usage. And I also plan to hunt with it soon.
Update (02-16-2020): I had a chance to hunt with this crossbow and I am very impressed with its performance. I use 18" Black Eagle Executioner bolts tipped with 100 grain Rage Hypodermic broad heads. It easily took down a medium sized hog at about 25-30 yards. I have no doubt that this crossbow will serve deer hunters well.

Impressed

Finally had a chance to go shoot. This is my first crossbow and I am not let down. I found the assembly to be easy and straightforward. I had it zeroed in less than 10 shots. I have only shot close range so I can't speak to accuracy over 20 yards, but I have had excellent accuracy so far. Coming with a cocking rope is a huge plus!
Very impressed

I can't say anything bad about this bow. As long as u take care of it and follow instructions it is a reliable tool. I like the adjustable stock and the scope really isn't bad. Out of the box and shooting the same day only took me half hour to dile in the scope. Very accurate up to 50 yards for me. Can easily go farther with carbon bolts. All in all great deal and I'm impressed. Also its Not my first crossbow . and won't be my last. Big ðŸ‘
Pure Junk in it’s Fullest

Brought this crossbow for my son for his birthday in July we chatted a couple times he had troubleshooting it I cited it in 10 million times this crossbow is a piece of crap take my word for it I'm 49 years old I've owned three different crossbows my lifetime to Horton crossbows Which both shot very well one was stolen and one I sold an ounce you to 10 points for the last 11 years I've change the string on it wants I've harvested plenty of venison so I sayThis crossbow is a waste of time and money junk
Great Bow for the price buy this one and don’t think twice.

For the price this crossbow can not be beat! I have had other brands at this price point in the past that couldn't hold a candle to this bow.
It is a complete kit first off comes with cocker, arrows ( which are fine for a beginner who is just target practicing but I would buy better), rail lube ,scope and tools and quiver.
Read all direction before assembly will make it easier. And I would suggest loosing the set screw in the scope rail and spin the dial towards up position like 3 clicks before mounting scope and sighting in. I didn't and ran out of up adjustment on the scope and had to go back and do just that.
The photo I attached was a 30 yard shot using the third line on the provided scope. The lines seem to go 10, 20, 30,40 once sighted in. But for me dead center works for 10 and 20.
I would definitely buy this bow over any other recurve crossbow of this price range.
