Received my knife today and withheld my review until I examined it and played with it a little. Here's my thoughts...
This is another knife I bought while trying to decide what knife I want to take with me on my ride thru Canada and Alaska with my buddy. Expected use are typical camp chores and use as a survival knife if the need arises. I now have several new knives to decide on so I better figure it out fast!!! Camp chores are the usual shelter, fire, small game and fish processing in Alaska in camp, lashing to a pole to make a spear to dance naked around the campfire with... Just the usual things you'd do with a knife like this.
Sheath is fairly nice. It has plastic liners in a fashion on the cutting edge sides of the sheath. The knife rattles in the sheath a little. Not excessive but enough that the sheath could for the knife a little better. The exterior pocket is large enough for a small survival kit. Stitching appears well done and all in all the sheath appears well made. If they put a little more detail into the liner so the blade fit a little tighter the sheath would frigging rock for what it is!!! It is MOLLE compatible and the snap on the strap securing the knife in the sheath snaps positively. I'm not worried about losing the knife but a snugger fit if the sheath would help with retention should the snap come open. I will say the sheath does appear to be made from good thick quality materials for the most part. Yes I can pick apart perfection, my loving wife taught me how! LMAO
Blade.... The blade edge is reasonably sharpened. I say sharpened not sharp. Don't take this the wrong way yet please let me explain my thinking. This knife is supposed to be hand made in Spain and as such I don't expect cold machined perfection to the .00001". The knife would shave hair for most of the blades edge except up twords the tip. I said in a previous one review or two I wasn't going to shave my legs for a review but on this knife I had to test sharpness as it wasn't perfectly obvious to me if it was sharp enough. I now have a bald spot. It shaved hair it didn't pop hair. The tip however wouldn't. I ran the knife down a steel and the main cutting edge got noticably better to my thumb however the tip still didn't feel as sharp as it should be. Inspection of the edge showed that it wasn't evenly ground on both sides. I'll clean this up with a stone however it really shouldn't have passed QC in my opinion. Yes I am being harsh intentionally on this knife as I expected that love and care in a supposed hand made knife. It's not bad enough to detract a star and IF it really is hand made in Spain I'll allow for imperfections to a degree. I do wonder if this knife truly is hand made or if that's a marketing tool? Yes I'm cynical.
Grip and scales... This was very well done and the knife sits comfortably in the hand and the micarta makes it stick in my sweaty palms just as it's supposed to. Whoever fit the scales to this knife did a hell of a job!!! Choking up on the choil the knife is very natural and secure in the hand. Nicely designed and located for fine tasks.
Blade balances well and seems to mold itself into my hand. All in all this knife was very nicely done!!!
I feel this knife should perform well as a woods knife, survival knife, bush knife, or whatever you want to call it. Only time and use will tell and I'll update my review as time goes on.
So there it is... Do I feel the knife was worth the $95.99? All in all if it holds up and holds an edge yeah I'd say it's a fair price for sure! If it really is handmade! I'm not trying to cast doubt I'm simply trying to be objective.

I like the knife a lot

I like the knife a lot. Great feel, and looks like excellent quality. I just received it, so I cant tell you how it holds an edge yet. The Sheath is a different story. Not Impressed, flimsy leather (almost like pleather). it was a real let down. I am looking for a better sheath.
awesome quality leather
