The otem arrived on time. We like it. We use all the time. I work in the hospital and i know that this is a quality product. It gives you an accurate readings. +-3 on the systolic and diastolic. And almost on the dot with MAP. The heart rate gives +-2. This is really good. Battery last a good while. The best part of this is that, it has a micro usb port. I can use my battery pack for emergencies!

Now, why 3stars? The packaging was crushed. The unit have some signs of wear, like it was a returned item or a refurbished item. Somebody forgot to remove one battery while repacking. Though i can return it but i decided to just clean it use it since i will give it as a gift. So far it is still working.

My suggestion is, please check the item prior to shipping. Please tell delivery to handle it with care.

My MIL's BP tends to run all over the place. We got this after an episode of extremely low BP headed us to the hospital. Great monitor for home use. I've checked it against the doctor's office and periodically continue to compare it to readings from our home health nurse and it's always accurate within +/- 3 mm Hg which is certainly close enough to determine if there is a problem. I always take 3 readings and average them. Occasionally we get a funky read, but that seems rare.
CONS: we use it multiple times/day so we go through batteries. Probably replace about every 3 weeks. You can tell when they're going bc it's slower to inflate.
Any movement during the test will usually result in an error so sit very still.

I have been having BP issues for the past few months and have had to monitor my pressure at home. I had thrown out a wrist BP measuring device because of inaccuracies and my internist told me to get a digital monitor with a cuff. This device has sent me back to the internist a number of times because it was registering higher in spite of my medication changes. Each time, the doctor's office measured lower. Today, I had a measurement of 139/95 and it was 118/70 at the doctor's office (where, if anything, it might have spiked higher). I am replacing it immediately.

My 13+ year old upper arm BP monitor started to give me random irregular heart rate warning, plus, the jerky way to pump air makes me nervous, hence I got mostly incorrect BP readings. So I was ready to look for a suitable replacement.

There are a lot of BP monitors, with well known brands as well as many unknown brands available at varying prices. I initially looked for units of established name brands. They invariably are more expensive, and the 1 STAR rating feedbacks were mostly about inaccuracy of these units. If the units are inaccurate, why bother using them.

So, I changed my search criterion to look for units that persistently gave accurate results. Then a few model came up in my search... they had one thing in common, with FDA Approval wordings in the product description. This brand is unknown to me, with a tiny sample of user reviews. However all reviews did not mention this model giving inaccurate readings. I went to an independent review site to check for fake reviews. It gave an A rating. Besides, despite this being sold by another company, it is fulfilled by Amazon. I can always return it if it is not accurate.

Long story short... I like this make and model... very easy to use and most importantly, it gives accurate reading, (within +/-5mm Hg) compared to those readings taken in my doctor's office.

I have to say it is really worth of the price. The reading is fairly accurate. I bought another brand for ~$60 in my local supermarket. The readings are pretty similar with almost no difference. However, this one is far less expensive. So I returned the other one. I bought it for my parents. They like the large display fonts which are easy for old people like my parents to read. Besides, it is convenient to take it for travel!
