Worked great! Seems well built!

I had to torque the heck out of this to get my crank arm off - like beat the crap out of the wrench with a hammer to get it to loosen. Its not the tools fault, thats how tight my crank arm was on. I was surprise the tool held up to the abuse. I'm impressed.

Works as intended. Could be a little more stout, but was as expected for a consumer oriented tool. This would be a much better tool if it included an allen head bolt for the extractor's plunger to push against.

Tool arrived in good shape. Immediately used it to remove the crank arm and it worked. The tool is short enough to have clearance of the pedals which is a plus but the short arm also made it a bit more difficult to get a good leverage. But for the price, it was a good cost benefit choice. Both crank arms were removed in no time.
Satisfactory for light, occasional consumer use. Would hesitate to purchase for commercial use.

Bought this to remove the crank arms from a stationary exercise bike. The male portion that screws into the arm -- the piece that is a darker color in the product picture -- appears to be a very strong, well-constructed piece. It threaded easily into the proper position. The socket/bolt portion, which is tightened against the end of the crank's shaft to supply the necessary thrust for removal, doesn't appear to be hardened, and the threads are not well-defined.

The two pieces fit together well enough if you just screw one into the other as a 'dry' fit test. My first attempt at removal was unsuccessful, as I couldn't supply sufficient torque with the short, included wrench to break the crank free from the square shaft. I had to separate the two parts in order to use a longer wrench for my second attempt. In doing this, I found that the bolt/socket piece was 'stuck' in the darker colored part - indicating that the force used in the extraction attempt had caused the threads of the two pieces to bind together. It required two wrenches to separate the pieces.

I had applied a light film of grease to the threads prior to my attempt, but it apparently didn't help. The pieces did separate, and I didn't observe any obvious damage to the threads, but my thinking is that slightly inferior material, or, perhaps, imprecise cutting of the threads on the bolt/socket piece allowed this binding condition to develop during the stress of torque application.

Ultimately, I was successful in removing the two cranks, although the binding between the two pieces was repeated at each attempt. That stated, I feel that this represented a decent deal, as compared with the more expensive 'name brand' tools that can be obtained. It's very likely that I'll never use this tool again, because the need won't be there. If I were in a position where I needed to use this type of tool on a regular basis, I would opt for one of higher quality, even at a higher expense.
