I'm a Scuba Instructor in Hawaii. Whenever I'm taking certified divers on a tour I take my iPhone 11 Pro in my Kraken Housing. I took this pic of a spotted Eagle Ray at about 70' with my iPhone! I have owned GoPros and a couple of different Olympus Cameras with Underwater Housing. This is the camera I take diving 99% pf the time. The Kraken costs less than a GoPro and is obviously larger. But I tied on a bolt snap to the housing and just clip it off when I'm not using it. It's not so big that it's annoying underwater. The issue I have with GoPro is that everyone who buys one ends up upgrading eventually to either a newer better GoPro or something that takes decent pictures. The reality is that the best camera most people have is their phone. The Kraken leverages this and every time you get a new phone you get an upgraded underwater camera.
I love the workflow of using the Kraken. I remove my phone, edit the pics on my phone, and upload the pics from my phone to FaceBook. Easy. The DivePlus App does a pretty good job of color restoration and cleaning up the pic. I can do better if I spend time in LightRoom and PhotoShop and sometimes I do if I'm thinking of making a metal print. But for social media sharing the DIvePlus app does a great job and it's easy and fast.
As an underwater photographer I wish the Kraken shot in RAW or a version of RAW. But this is a software issue, and software tends to get improvements over time. I hear from a friend that this is an upcoming feature.
Bottom line: this is a solid machined aluminum housing with a vacuum pump. Follow the directions, watch a you tube video or two on using it, and you'll have no issues. I've taken mine on over 100 dives up to 120' and love the pics I get.

Fantastic product! This housing fits a variety of phones and uses an application that you download to operate the phone camera through Bluetooth buttons that are on the exterior of the housing.
You can switch from video mode to picture mode from the outside of the housing and use functions like zoom and picture review too. The housing comes with a vacuum tool that is used on a port in the front of the housing to give the housing negative pressure when in use. A small green light comes on in the back of the housing when it's sealed. This gives you confidence the housing is waterproof and ready to go.
The housing is made of hard aluminum and polycarbonate glass in the back. I jarred it around on the boat and it holds up well. Small scratches on the aluminum is to be expected. I've used this on multiple dives and it operates well. I rinse the housing external parts with freshwater after each use to extend life.
It comes with a wrist strap that prevents you from accidentally dropping it. You will need two triple AAA batteries installed for operation.
I give this housing 5 stars because it's got all the function you need, gives you confidence it is sealed, durable, comes with a great case, extra O-rings for seals, wrist strap and fits a variety of phones. I used this with Apple IPhone X and IPhone 8Plus and Samsung Galaxy. All fit without my phones cases and with cases installed. Very versatile.
My only complaints,
1) I haven't owned a watch since the year 2000 because I keep time with my phone. When your phone is in the housing you can't tell what time it is. They could easily update the phone app to display the time. Not a big deal.
2) If you own strobes for underwater photography there is not a way to utilize them with this housing since there isn't a flash or fiber optic port for flash photography. I understood this when I bought the housing so it's not a negative to the housing itself because phones aren't really used for flash photography. Just thought I would let others know the story.
