This is a product you never want to use, but if the need to have one you want it on hand. It looks well made and will be mounting them in each of my vehicles. Best thing to happen is that I don't have to use it, but if I do, it sure looks like it would do a great job. The mallet fits well in the holder and is not sloppy in its fit. Contact points look well made and the seatbelt cutter is sharp and will do a great job. I drive over the road and it may come in handy helping others as I see lots of wrecks while on the road.

These tools seem okay, but they could have come with some instructions/helpful hints. It's pretty clear how you'd cut a seatbelt, and it's obvious that you'd hit the glass with the hammer, but it might have been helpful to advise on the best place to hit, etc. I'm also not sure where I'm going to keep these. There is a mounting bracket, but I'm reluctant to start drilling holes in my car. The bracket is curved on the back, so you'd have to find just the right spot in your car if you're using double sided tape/Velcro so it would stick. It fits well in my hand, and although it is lightweight there is a good weight on the hammer end. Obviously I'm not going to smash my window to see if it works, but it does give me a little piece of mind to have these in my car. One thing I've seen mentioned before but bears repeating: these only work on tempered glass! Some cars (and not just newer ones) have laminated glass on the side windows, and this tool will not work on that type of glass. I googled which models of cars have laminated glass in the side windows before I bought these tools. There are other ways to tell, but that's what I did. Just make sure to find out!

I like that it is light-weight, and it fits well in my hand. I gave one to my brother, because he often drives on bridges that are over water here in San Francisco. If for any reason his car would end up in the water, at least he would have a chance to escape his car, and try and climb onto the roof of the car, or any other object that might be close by and wait for help. It also would be handy if he ends up in a car accident on dry land and can't open his car door. I am saving mine for if I would have to break my balcony window in an emergency, especially if there would be a fire blocking my way to the fire exit doors. I also got a small, light- weight hammer in case the window glass breaker needs additional help to make a fairly safe exit for me. I will keep it in my carrying bag, and bring it with me when my brother drives me places. That way if we can't get to my brother's glass breaker in an accident, I might still be able r reach mine. My balcony door can't be opened because I have a air conditioner installed between the door and the outside screen. So this gives me peace of mind that I have some way of getting out in an emergency.

Thankfully, we haven't had to use these since buying them. But we take a lot of road trips and I always like to be prepared for the worst. I used the blade to cut off some leather off an old couch frame and it worked extremely well, so I'm confident it would cut a seatbelt with no problem. The hammer is very heavy and the pointy part fairly pokey, so I'm confident it can break a window. We keep one in each door pocket and are so glad to have the peace of mind on our trips.
