Terrible muzzle but AMAZING training tool

First and foremost this is a very unsafe muzzle. The material is cheap, the front is open which no matter how tight makes it plenty susceptible to if your dog gets away from you they can get a bite, it's also not great for pant room either especially if you want your best odds against a bite. That said- I LOVE this muzzle for introducing and training muzzled obedience! You can deliver rewards to your dog, it's light weight, flexible, affordable and replaceable, and generally pretty damn adjustable. I recommend it to anyone who is working to create more advanced obedience behaviors with a muzzle on. I would buy ten more.

I have a 65lb 3 yr old reactive doberman who lunges and barks at other dogs , especially since getting attacked by a pitbull a month ago. He is undergoing behavior modification training but I don't trust him to not bite and bark on walks. This leather muzzle looks great. I got a medium which is snug and has to be clasped on the last holes. A large might have been better but the medium fits just fine imo. I haven't tested it out on a walk yet but it seems to be doing the trick initially.

We originally got this because my dog likes to jump and pull when we would walk him. He's not vicious, but he is large and has a deep menacing bark.(just a big marsh mellow) We live in apartments and our neighbors were acting afraid of him so we got this more to ease their worries.He looks like Hannibal the cannibal in this. It fit great, but he didn't like it very much, it was annoying to him, but it did somewhat distract him from chasing after everything on our walks. He was still able to pant, drink, and eat small treats. We had to buy a separate collar to attach it to or else be forced to loop it to his regular collar each time he wore it. It did not help with the pulling or barking. We ended up getting a face harness for the pulling, but we still use this if he has to go somewhere public like the vet.

I have been searching for a muzzle for our Great pyrenees/lab mix for a couple months, now. All the 'correction' muzzles we'd purchase didn't do what we needed.
Our dog is a big boy & when we took him for walks he was unpredictable, with people. He's so big, fluffy & Cuddly everyone wants to pet him, especially kids. We tried training him & managed to get his barking in check. But then he started silently lunging at people as they approached. We had to change walk schedules, so we could go when most people are inside. So we wouldn't have to deal with his social problems.
Thanks to this muzzle we have been able to walk our boy with assurance that he is comfortable & won't be able to nip at people. He's a good boy, just untrusting of strangers.
This muzzle has helped us get our boy in check & show him most people just want to love on him. We have 4 young kids, who Sarge (dog) adores. So we only feel it's necessary to put his muzzle on when we leave the house. & it's worked well these past weeks. Took a while for him to not mind the muzzle but, now that he's used to it he walks like it's not even there.

I have a Treeing Walker Coon Hound and tried both the large and the medium. Her snout measured one size and head measured the other. The large was way too big and when it was adjusted small enough for her head, it mashed into her eyes and actually caused her to have a scrape under her eye. Switched to the medium and it cut her up behind her ears and she was able to get it off of herself and chew it up.
On the other hand, I also have an Australian Shepherd and the large (although slightly big on him) seems to work great on him. May try the chewed up medium from the coon hound to see if that size fits him better, but overall the large works alright for short periods.
