Works as expected and is a great addition to my 40v "collection".
Cuts cleanly and handles small twigs without issue. Lightweight construction and easy to hold which is welcomed when working around the yard all day.
A small negative for me but could be a deal breaker for some: I wish they gave you a better blade cover for safety and to keep it clean. The basic plastic guard is not durable if you transport the trimmer around it falls off easily and doesnt cover the rail which can hurt you or another object if bumped.

I love my Kobalt lawnmower, so when I saw this hedge trimmer that uses the same battery and charger I already have for the mower, I just had to get it. It has been discontinued at the local home improvement stores. I did all the old thick boxwoods and other woody bushes around the house in a half hour and battery still going! The only problem is the safeties. You must hold the front crossbar switch, then, you have to move the thumb safety to either the left or right, and then pull the trigger. If you need to reposition your hands while trimming you have to let go of one of the safeties and the unit shuts off.
