My new kitchen favorite!

This is my new kitchen favorite!! I'm not a professional or gourmet chef, I'm a mom with a husband and boys that can seriously eat and keep eating. So I make food in bulk. I ordered this pan because it was 13 inches - pretty big. And the description said it was oven proof - a big deal for me since my boys are busy and many days eat at different times. I received it almost immediately. It came much sooner than Amazon's estimated delivery date. When I unpacked it, it was so gorgeous I just washed it and put it on my stove top for a few days so I could admire it. I threatened anyone who looked like they wanted to use it before me. I cooked a few quick things at first and it was nice, but the real test is something "serious". Like I said, I'm not a gourmet chef, and I usually don't get to focus and cook. I have a million things going on and get pulled in a dozen different directions constantly. So it's not all that uncommon for smoke or burning to happen on my stove. To put my new pain to the test, I made a chicken dish that is rich, cheesy, and sticky. I left it for a bit and ran back to check on it - It was still coming along perfectly. I stuck it in the oven to stay warm. When I was finally ready to clean up later that night, what was left in the pan just poured right out!! No sticking, no scraping, no scrubbing. It took me about 30 seconds to hand wash it, dry it and place it back on the TOP of my stove so I can admire it again for another few days. I'm thrilled with this new frying pan.
Well-built item

This is, I think, the sixth pan/pot I've gotten from this company. Family owned, made in Italy (not China - woo hoo!), non-toxic and non-stick.. oh! and dishwasher safe. Ok that's about all the products I own from them.
About this pan in particular it's super easy to use, clean and everything comes out beautiful (and yummy). I use it so much I bought a second one (and 2 of the little versions). Picture enclosed shows after - I think it's been 3 years of use - I compared it to the 6 months or so owned little versions and they look the same inside. Just preheat before you add your oil. Don't put food in until the pan is hot enough!! (Very important). Everything comes out brown and perfect. You can literally just wipe out the pan, then throw it in the dishwasher. When it comes out wipe it down with some oil before reusing. (i just use some canola oil spray - don't use the fake stuff, use real oil. fake oil stuff is bad for nonstick surfaces.
In the photo, that's cubes of Halloumi Cheese - usually I will make this with fresh mint, cubes of watermelon and throw it on top of some couscous - I use their pot to make the couscous :) (You can see on the left side corner the pot from the same line).
Bottom line, browns evenly, sturdy, well made, and super easy to clean. Made in Italy and American owned. I had no problems with these. NOTE: just don't use metal in them - ever. Don't say wow that looks yummy i'll just stick my fork in there.... just don't. Otherwise you are good to go!

My wife is the cook of our house, so when she said that this pan was the one to go with, I deferred to her. Previously we'd pick up a frying pan from Walmart and after about 10 months we'd see Teflon flakes appearing and we'd have to toss it. Finally decided to spring for a ceramic pan. Good choice!
We've used it with everything from eggs to meat to vegetables and it's held up like a champion. Nothing sticks and it's dishwasher safe so cleanup is easy. No obvious defects after several months of daily use and cleaning. Quality is top notch
Only negative I can really say is that for $90, it'd be nice if it came with a lid. It's not something that's needed often, but on those times where we're doing taco meat it'd be great to be able to cover it and let the meat marinate in the liquid a while without losing heat. Still, overall it's a quality product

I've been on a quest for a safe, non-stick, fry pan and I'm incredibly happy with this purchase. From the research I've done, ceramic is it. Cast Iron, and even, the best quality stainless steel can leach metals into food. Copper coated pans and highly touted diamond coated pans get around using the word Teflon, by using other chemicals that are just as harmful.
If you buy Vesuvio Ceramic pan, you won't look any further. Not as heavy as Le Creuset, but the heat distribution is wonderful. So far I've cooked fish, hash browns, eggs, french toast, fried chicken, stir fry vegetables, steamed rice, stir-fried rice, creamy and tomato-based pasta dishes and lamb chops. The pan works like a champ. Even though most manufacturers recommend not using scrub pads of any kind to clean ceramic, I disagree. The key to keeping these pans stick free is cleaning them thoroughly after each use with warm sudsy water and a natural walnut scrub pad (not the blue, non-scratch type pads - they are too harsh). It's also important to preheat ceramic pans before adding any oil. When a bead of water sizzles, it's hot enough. Once the pan is heated, add the oil (no sprays) and heat 30 seconds longer. Just make sure you don't heat your oil to a smoking point and all should work well. And, please, stop cooking on high. Like cast iron, ceramic browns nicely on much lower heats and cooking on high over time will deteriorate the ceramic surface. I also use olive wood and silicone utensils and I never put my cookware in the dishwasher.
