Great inexpensive hot knife

I purchased this to cut channels and remove cubes out of ICF blocks in my basement walls for wiring (channels for wire runs and cubes for switch/outlet boxes). It worked amazingly well for the boxes, I matched the bendable blade to the size and depth of an electrical box and knocked them out in a couple seconds. While I was making the channel for the wire runs it still worked really well but I did have to monitor my speed. If I went as fast as I could (similar to if I were drawing a line on the wall with a marker) after a couple of feet the blade would start to cool a little and I'd have more resistance going through the foam and end up with a tighter channel. The knife did recover quickly though and if I could resume after a few seconds of a pause to let it get back up to temp. If I went slower I didn't have much of an issue. All in all it was a great purchase though and made quick work of my project!

Not quite hot enough

It works fine for a single straight cut but if you are trying to cut a u channel it doesn't get hot enough. Obviously the depth in size of the channel has an impact but I was only cutting a 1.5 inch deep by 1.5 inch wide channel.
Looks good & heats fast but haven't used yet.

The sculpture assembly had no instructions & needs. I had to go to a picture 0n line tounderstand that this blade rod is one you have to bend & made.. Also base plate is hard to get back in the case to close.
