I have this bulb in one of my chicken coops near the nest boxes. It's attached to a thermocube that comes on below 35 degrees to prevent eggs from freezing. It's been running most of the past month with no issues at all. I'll definitely buy more as others die. Ususally these type of bulbs only die due to trauma, like one time when a bobcat smashed into a sliding door trying to get in, which caused the door to literally break it's rollers and slam into the light fixture. That will kill almost any bulb! (I doubled up the rollers when I repaired it). Bobcat got nothing, thanks to my dog hearing the comotion and respondiong.

Wow! This thing gets extremely hot beware of how hard it actually gets. It's perfect for whatever you got to use it for because it actually keeps everything warm without getting everything to heart but the actual Bob it's self is piping hot and depending on what you use to hold the bulb in that will probably get so hard that you can't even touch it.

This has to be THE HOTTEST heat source available! Holy crap lol!!! I got this for my baby rhino iguana, whom need a basking temp available of up to 120, but atleast 110, And an ambient temp of 80-90, 70 is low for nights! So anyways, the 100 Watts were falling very short, so I opted for this baby and wow! It was atleast a 100 tonight in his cage, he has never moved away from the heat source and relaxed on the floor, and he was down on the floor sleeping lol!!! So I think I might move him to a screen cage just because the heat is so immense! Bravo! If you have a high heat reptile, igauna, Uromastyx etc, this is the bulb for their heat! Note: iguanas also need a full spectrum light source AND UVB source is this bulb is used! As do most sub tropic and desert species!
Also, I cracked the doors on my rhino iggys cage to add some ventilation as the vents were not enough it seemed and he crawled up on the branch and went to sleep :)

Not as hot as the same Watt traditional heat lamp. I like the concept of the ceramic bulb. They need some improvement before it is worth the extra energy they use for the same heat.
