I have had this device 3+ years, during which time it has been very helpful during long sessions at my desktop computer. My natural tendency at the computer is to slouch and raise my head to see the screen, which leaves me at the end of the day with aggravating neck pain. This device, partly by mechanics and partly by suggestion, I think, has me sitting up straighter, shoulders down, head back. I wear it outside my shirt, which minimizes any chafing. It is not a general cure for my 75-year habits of bad posture, but it helps a lot with the problem of computer-station neck pain.

This is the reason for the four stars - it rubs my underarms so awful! It's excruciatinglh painful. This is tragic, because I love the product, and it has helped me so much. It has a sticky side designed to keep the product in place that just winds up rubbing my underarms raw.

Overall, this is a great product. Hurts less to wear over clothing. I wear it a lot, but I wish it weren't so painful.

I did not think that I needed the lower back support that some of the other brands have. But I wish I would have gotten one with a back brace too, now. This one rides up your shoulders and has to be adjusted constantly. It says you can wear it under your clothes, but you cannot adjust it with clothes on top of it. The back support part of some of the others would work well to keep the entire thing from riding up to the base of your skull. It does work to pull your shoulders back a bit, and seems to remind you to pull them back more. I was having mid-back pain from slouching mostly with the upper half of my back. Wearing this for about 4 days seems to have alleviated that paid. Wearing it all day, a few of the days, has left me sore at the end of the day. I did not experience any underarm pain or irritation that some people mention in the reviews. I am 6'2" and 175 lbs. It could be a little bigger, especially if you're tall and thicker. I'm skinny and can see it being an even more tight fit for a huskier person.

Pain gone after 1 day of wearing

I have been getting these knots in my upper back between my shoulder blades. My back hurt all the time. I was constantly stretching and trying to massage them out myself. I got a professional massage, and it did loosen the knots up a little, but I was still in pain and I realized I needed frequent massages in order to see a difference...which isn't practical and too expensive. So then, I bought this shoulder massager that does Shiatsu massage. I'd put heat on my back for 15 min then use the Shiatsu massager to try to work out my knots each night. It hurt and I was still in some amount of pain throughout the day. Then, I'm thinking maybe my posture is part to blame (or all to blame) so I bought this posture corrector. I wore it the first day (all day) and that night when I took it off before bed I was pain free. I could still feel the knots if I reached over my shoulder, but at least I wasn't in any pain. I'm on day 3 today. I'll check back in a couple weeks to give another update, but so far I'm very pleased. As far a s comfort goes, I can't say it's 100% the most comfortable thing I've worn, but I make sure to were a t-shirt, put the brace over my t-shirt so it doesn't rub on my skin, then I put whatever I'm wearing that day on over my t-shirt. For the price, it was worth it for sure.
