I had doubts
Jordan M Smith✓ Verified Purchase•January 12, 2024
I had doubts, we have tried everything. Been having a moth problem for almost 2 years now and nothing seemed to work. Within 5 minutes of setting these traps out, it caught 2 moths. Within 2 days it had over 15. Now over 2 weeks in and 3 traps set, it has caught over 40. I've seen a major decline in our moth problem. They aren't completely gone, but it's getting there. Highly recommend these traps. Will order more in a month or two if need be, but I'm thinking this pack was enough. The sense of relief I feel to finally have the upper hand on this problem is beyond words. These traps are worth every penny spent.
Great product

These moth traps are awesome!! we live in a human area and we tend to get a lot of covered Mas during the summer and these traps caught thousands of moss truly scary to think had a not had the traps. Those would've ended up in my food laying eggs.
Super pleased with these, they're somewhat, inconspicuous since they fold into a triangle. They're easy to use, you have to worry about touching the sticky glue like other traps that are exposed.

THESE ARE WONDERFUL. DONT WAIT TO BUY!
We had a terrible infestation (I think from dog food bin).
It was awful in our small house. But no more! I bought small pack 1st, in case they didn't work, BUT THEY DID. So 6 weren't quite enough, had to buy more. Wish I had bought the 20 pack 1st then $ would have been saved. There is a patience window, tho.
Apparently, traps arrived right at 'mating season' cuz we caught 40-50 in each of 3 of the traps within a week (likely would have taken longer if timing hadnt been right) only a few in the others, but now there are nearly none left (20 days later). Not sure if any eggs will hatch, but ther'll always be fresh traps available if they get frisky. I doubt we'll be lucky enough to not get anymore, but we are VERY HAPPY now that they aren't buzzing us. They are easy to sneak up on and I found a baby wipe works wonders to smash and wipe them off the walls, but gee, now it's like we never had them. YAY!.
One reviewer said these traps interrupt the life cycle so with no male moths, ther'll be no eggs. PRAISE GOD.
Thank you Dr. KILLIGAN, you've done it again 😉

I was buying a diffrent brand, which worked fine and was a little cheaper. However, this brand is easy to use. You do not have to drop the male scent pad on it, it is already on it and in a long thin strip. Both brands of traps caught male moths, but this is just easier.
Moths infestation is VERY hard to get rid of. Don't be fooled if you don't catch any for a while. The eggs tend to hatch in the warmer weather. I have had very little or no activity in the winter, but in the spring, summer, and fall they are seen again. So continue using these for years - yes, years. Moth eggs can stay dormant for a very long time before hatching.
You do need to throw out most of your pantry food if you are serious about getting rid of moths. They lay eggs all over the place: on cardbord boxes (such as ceral boxes, rice boxes, etc.), under the rim of the cover of glass bottled goods, under the lables of canned goods, in corners at the tops of walls and cabinets. Look for little, thick web-like things on the top of walls. Look for fine grainy meterial at the bottom of things like bags of nuts. and look for very tiny worms
It is best to place these up high in warm dark places if you can, and at least 12 feet (or maybe it is 20 feet) apart. Otherwise the male is confused and doesn't know where to go. I think it is ok to have seveal in the same room if you have one in a pantry and one in a closed cabinet. Change these very 3 to 6 months even if you do not see any activity in the trap, or if the trap has a lot of moths in it.
Can you tell, I have experience with moths? I got them from buying shelled sunflower seeds for birds. I kept the sunflower seeds in an tight-lid container in the garage. But when it was opened to get seed, unbeknownst to me some moths must have been in ther and flew out. All it takes is one fertilized female to get in the house. One female moth lays hundreds of eggs.

We had a horrible Indian meal moth infestation, all from a box of spaghetti. I had no idea they even existed before being overrun with them. (Silly me thought there were coming in with me and my garden harvests.) My exterminator recommended buying traps to help with their eradication. As soon as I started setting these traps out, I was catching moths in them. I know it's only the female moths, but that's a necessary part of their reproduction equation. It took a year before I stopped seeing any moths ever and had none on my traps, but their numbers went down significantly in the first few months. After that I was seeing maybe 1 or 2 a month and catching about 3-5 per month in my 3 trap triangle. The traps were one important part of the eradication plan, and I appreciate that they look nicer than most of the traps out there, were easy to remove the plastic from to reveal the sticky part, were easy to set up, had no discernable scent, and did their job well. What more can you ask?
The other thing I did and will always do now is freezing every grain product that enters my home for 3 days, which kills the eggs and larvae. Then the contents of the packages are transferred to air tight canning jars and/or containers. This helped starve the moths and larvae already in my home and will hopefully prevent a reinfestation in the future since they'll either be dead or they can't get out of the jar or container if they do get past the freezing step. It's a pain to constantly freeze and repackage everything, but I'll do that for the rest of my life if it means never dealing with an Indian meal moth infestation again. (It's totally disgusting that we need to do this, but it is what it is.)
If you're here to buy traps, please know that these work and work well. Also, take the extra steps to hopefully never need them again. But if it does happen again, I won't hesititate to buy these traps again.
