Slept 8.5 consecutive hours

1st night: Thirty pounds (12kg) of blanket takes some getting used to. I did feel like I slept better than normal.
2nd Night: WOW, this blanket is heavy! Getting a little more familiar with the weight. Slept better than first night.
3rd Night: I achieved over eight hours of sleep. The first time in over a year!
1 Week: when I awoke this Saturday morning, I woke an hour before my alarm refreshed. Not feeling the blanket, I assumed it had been kicked off during the night. I started to move... nope! I was still held down with the mass.
FYI 30lbs was the heaviest I could find. I am 6' and 340 lbs, strong and fat. 30#'s of blanket is a lot, it takes some effort to move. This much weight does dampen twitches significantly.

After having this product less than 2 months it has a hole in it and the plastic weighted beans/balls are spilling into my bed. Very frustrating given the cost of the product.
Breathable and Comfortable

A friend of mine let me try a weighted blanket that had a sort of fleece texture to it, and although I loved the weight of the blanket, the fleece made it too warm. I picked this up to see if it would be better, and the product far exceeded my expectations. The material is comparable to the comforter you might purchase to put in a duvet, so it is incredibly breathable. I never really trusted all of the reviews that insisted these blankets were actually cool, but as someone who wakes up sweating nearly every night, let me assure you: this is optimized for a comfortable temperature. The distribution of the weight also feels much more even than other weighted blankets I've tried, so this is by far the best one I've come across. I am 5'7 and about 160 lbs, and although I really like the fifteen-pound blanket and find it incredibly comfortable, I think I would have gone up to the twenty pound blanket if I could do it over again. Most resources online say you should make it no more than 10% of your body weight, but if you want something with a little more pressure, I think the twenty-pound blanket is a good bet. Regardless, this is so comfortable and absolutely worth the seemingly expensive price.
Very relaxing, perfect for one person yet a bit small for two, planning to buy a throw version for our couch

My husband & I agreed to buy this blanket after I *insisted* that the reviews showed it was worth spending $170ish on a comforter. When it arrived, I was slightly nervous that it might not live up to the hype. Happily, I was wrong, and it is AMAZING. The instant we pulled the blanket over us, the feeling of relaxation was immediately apparent. My husband claims it's given him the best sleep of his life.
For me, this blanket helps calm me down: I would say I suffer from minor general anxiety (i.e. I'm "high-strung"). When it's bedtime, it relaxes my body and I have a much easier time putting down the cell phone and turning off the light. When I wake up, my entire body feels like I had a massage the day before. My husband doesn't suffer from any anxiety and he still thinks this is the best thing since sliced bread.
One detail I wish I had realized when purchasing this is that it is **exactly** the width of a queen size bed. There is ZERO overhang over the edge, and for two people it's definitely leaning toward "not wide enough". The weighted nature of the blanket helps keep it in place, though, and we have learned not to yank it off each other during the night. If I could change anything, it would just be to add a few inches to the width of the blanket (or offer a king-sized version, which we would happily purchase).
I find I tend to wake up more since I have to arrange the blanket around myself each time I toss and turn, but since I now sleep more deeply and calmly I actually wake up much more rested than before. We've started recommending these to everyone we know. If you have the money, it's absolutely worth trying. We haven't had any issues with leaking beads. To be honest, even if we did, we'd either tape the hole shut or buy another one, as we find it such a positive addition to our lives.

We love it.

I'm a believer! For the last 8 years, I have gotten very little sleep with my husband in the bed. He has REM sleep disorder which means he acts out his dreams and talks a lot in his sleep. He has even hit the headboard before and broken his finger. He is always tired and so am I. His mom said she had heard of weighted blankets to help people sleep who had anxiety and sleep disorders. I was extremely skeptical but got on Amazon and bought it immediately because I was willing to try ANYTHING in order to get some sleep. My husband is 6'2" and weighs about 185 so we bought the 20 pound blanket. I have no idea how it works but he barely moves or talks now when sleeping. I know it doesn't sound believable but it is true. The blanket is pretty heavy and difficult to move around on the bed but that is a very small price to pay. If his arms make it out the top of the blanket and he starts to move around, I reach over and put it back over his shoulders and he becomes quiet. It still feels weird that I am even writing this review because I'm not too sure I would believe it if I was just reading this and had not experienced it myself. If your are skeptical...../just buy it and try it. You can always return it if it doesn't work. It only took theee days for me to be convinced. Since it is so heavy, I'm not sure how hot it will be during the summer but I will crank the AC down as much as I can in order to keep him under that stinking blanket!!!
BTW......I buy at least two things on Amazon every week and I rarely write reviews and never write one this long......it is definitely my best purchase ever on Amazon.
