Love my Luna! Refreshing sleep but BEWARE!
Mark Lawmaster✓ Verified Purchase•September 8, 2023
They say eat in moderation, drink alcohol in moderation, etc. If everything was overdone/over used, we would all be unhealthy. Obese, constipated, puking, etc.
This is no different. I love this blanket. Amazing. I am a 5'8" 180lb man. I sleep on back about first 1/3 of night, then flip on stomach. You can read my Luna experience toward the bottom of this.
Luna and every other weighted blanket (wb) company has lied to you. Using a wb every night is unhealthy. Some sort of discomfort WILL develop from constant use; back pain, constipation, restless legs, etc. WBs were created for deep pressure touch, occasional use only, and a maximum of 30min.
In early 2021, I used a Bare Home 15lb full size wb unaware of the real uses (previous paragraph) for it. I noticed I had a small issue with constipation. I was eating less during the summer, even though I worked hard washing cars and mowing a little. I always ate more during summer. Well i thought i needed to cut out some dairy and bread. After that, I still had some minor constipation. I had not yet figured out what caused it. Then I bought my white Luna 25lb queen size wb. At some point i noticed I was only able to comfortably eat 3 or 4 bites for lunch. At dinner i could not handle a complete meal, more like half. These eating habits did not include snacks, thats how full i felt. This shoes that the constipation had become worse. I got a job about 1-3 weeks after my Luna purchase. I delivered meals for a non-profit called Feed the Need, hours 945am-130pm. Instead of eating a egg and cheese biscuit in the morn, I started drinking milk, V8, or orange juice with MiraLax. My sparse lunch and non-existent snacks continued. 1 1/2 months ago, I had just gotten into bed under the Luna. Laying there thinking suddenly a light bulb lit up. Not kidding, it suddenly struck me that the weighted blanket could be the issue. I got out of bed, put Luna wb on closet shelf and fluffy hotel goose down/feather comforter on bed.
In a matter of 3 days, after continuing MiraLax, my eating habits were back to normal. I was able to resume my normal consumption of milk. Been feeling great since i quit the every night wb.
I still love my Luna! It is very soft and cooling. One in a while when i feel super exhausted and need a nap, I get that 25lb on the couch and then wake up cool and refreshed in 10-30min!

Nice cotton cover, got what I expected
Michelle✓ Verified Purchase•August 18, 2023
I bought a 48" x 72" for my other brand weighted blanket (picture included of the weighted blanket packaging). I felt temperature comfortable with the cover, and I feel the cotton helped me not overheat or get too sweaty which was nice. I still felt cozy underneath, so I'm curious how it will perform in the summer.
It seems like the product description for the cover is accurate. 100% cotton, and feels similar to my cotton bedsheets/pillow cases, to give an idea of cloth texture. Came inside those frosted plastic bags with a slider top, branded with Luna.
The ties in the cover appear made of the same fabric as the main body, made into thin strips about 5 inches long. I gripped the ties and gave them a hard yank/jerk, and it seemed secure. I heard a slight snap, but the tie did not move and I couldn't see a difference in the threading, so I feel assured it should hold up in the wash at the very least. I also believe it should hold up to normal wear (since when will the blanket ties undergo very specific, sudden, strong pulls?).
I laundered the cotton cover on cold water delicate cycle, then tumble dried low and it fits my blanket perfectly (not too big or small) dimensions wise. My blanket only had loops on each of the four corners, so I cannot utilize the middle of the side ties, but I haven't had issues with the blanket moving around oddly in the cover.
Frankly, I bought this brand because of the label picture, which showed the brand and care info embroidered/woven in, not stamped on a plastic-y label. To me, this implies product reliability from a belief that the brand has faith in its quality of product and therefore longevity of the brand itself. I say this as full disclosure that I may have fall prey to Marketing because they would KNOW people might believe that, but in any case, it's also useful because the care instructions won't get faded or rubbed off the label.
Purchased from seller "Luna Wellness" fulfilled by Amazon, for $25.

Oh my, seeing it at my door I went to grab it., oh no, wait up girly , use some strength. I was thinking ,as I got it inside , on dear what have I done ?
I then eased down my hallway to the bedroom , huffed & puffed some let them box rest on my bed , rested then & found the box opener . Lifting neat folded blanket out was another thought , oh dear. take your time so, unzipping the clear bag ,,I could feel the fabric & was pleased . Now to pull it out of the neatly zipper bag, taking note of the way it was folded thinking ,I'd never get it back in that clear bag if I had to return.
I gather it out of the clear with some true funny effort and actually tote it across the hall as if carrying 3 , five bags of sugar . It's heavy yet just 18 pounds . Wheww .
I flop it onto the bed & Deep breathe more .
Ok breath over, I unfolded it and laid it out and see a fine printed ,,heavy, comforter laying flat and can hardly wait to ease under despite the fact it's only 5:39 pm.
Thats After I figure out I have it laying wrong .
I pull it back around with laughing effort and see, YES, it has covered the top of my Queen mattress quite well. Now Laying under it, oh Billy Bob, I just sank into the bed and had this
"wa-la Compressing feeling" coming on and u know what? IT was interesting & comfy & I just decided I would stay laying , it felt so good .
I made a good decision on this for me at 125 pounds . And , I Do think factoring in the weight is important, so choose wisely on the chart .
I do not regret this purchase . Nope, I do not. It will be interesting to see if it's to much during the super hot hot months . Still, very happy & love this design. I am Leary of my cats laying with me as cats like to Do in our tummy's making biscuits & purring
Well
I think I have said enough
Yeah.. I like it mucho

Instead of piling on quilt after quilt...

... just get a weighted blanket. I don't think I'm in the group of people who most benefit from the weight of weighted blankets as they are intended. I believe that because I haven't noticed that I fall asleep faster, toss and turn less, or stay asleep longer. But, I have noticed that instead of having 5 layers of quilts, comforters, and blankets on my bed I now have just a sheet, this weighted blanket, and a throw on top. And it's the middle of winter! Thus I have been able to pare down unneeded blankets and declutter my winter stash. Less laundry, less shuffling quilts about as I remake the bed each morning, and someone at the local homeless shelter got three really nice blankets right when they need them most.
The blanket is fairly well made, with even weight distribution. It didn't take very long for me to get used to it and despite its weight, it doesn't stop me from tossing and turning. It does, however, OOF! me into the floor each time I try to throw it around while cleaning or to move it to the couch. I don't have a cover for it, mostly because Amazon doesn't have any sellers who can manufacture covers beyond boring shades of navy, white, beige, and prison stripes. Unless they have toy sailboats on them, of course. So classy! I have some brocade lying around somewhere so I might just make one. I haven't washed it yet, as it's just being sandwiched between other materials right now and has nary a chance to get dirty, but when I do I imagine it might be a chore. Certainly, I'm not sticking this thing in my ancient washing machine. For once the machine probably won't come out the victor. Unlike when I put my bathroom rug in it and got back something resembling Cookie Monster's long lost cousin, Wayland.
Anywho, if you think a weighted blanket would help you with a sensory thing you (or someone) has then this is a good one. If you just want to declutter your 15 winter blankets down to 2-3 and still keep that nice weight of 5+ blankets, then this is for you. If you want something to OOF! your pet/spouse/child/guard goose into the floor so you can laugh while they bug out in distress, then this is for you. After a year the beads have shifted
Jami✓ Verified Purchase•June 21, 2023
I love this blanket! But I've had it for a little over a year and the beads have all shifted to the corners. I'm sad about it. I'll try a cheaper brand if I have to get a new one every year.
