The spikes are tall and rubber is thick and strong. I'm going to have a challenge accidentally ripping these off on the trail.

These will keep you from slipping, just don't walk on wood floors with them...They fit very well too, nice and snug. They seem well made as well, they don't feel like they're gonna snap if you pull them too hard.
A must have for icy conditions

After struggling in really icy conditions up mount Snowdon I knew ice grips were a must, it was a toss up between spikes or grips and the Yaktrax pro came out top for ease of fit, price and ease of stowage in my rucksack, they take up no room at all and I was really surprised how much grip they give for not being spiked.
