There's a quality control issue. One strap is two inches longer than the other. If I exchange the shorter one will I get a longer one or the shorter one? I've been using the basic Mueller knee strap for awhile now. If the strap isn't positioned exactly, it irritates my skin. The Abco one looked like it wouldn't cause irritation. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything for my knee pain.
I was able to return one of the straps but not the other despite the listing stating 100% guarantee. I sent both back anyway.

I have a "bad knee" from an accident when I was 18 years old - I'm now 34. The result is scarring on my meniscus and the start of arthritis in that knee. As someone that is fairly active, including when I work (I'm a professional photographer), I just need to give my knee support to avoid additional damage, and I usually use patella bands. They alleviate pain and have significantly reduce the times I've injured myself. My orthopedic doctor had given me the Q-baby by Bioskin years ago, and I've used it for years, buying a new one when the velcro on my prior one eventually gave out. Now that brace runs about $35-40, so when I was in the market for another, I decided to give this Abco one a whirl at a fraction of the price. I'm happy! It's comfortable, it serves the same purpose. The only criticism I have is that it seems to be a *little* more likely to slip than the Bioskin. It's possible that the tradeoff for the smoothness is that it has a little less friction and can therefore slip down a bit. So I may stick with these for working out, and continue to use the BioSkin for long days working weddings, when I can't be distracted by my knee brace sliding around. Caveat: my calves are freakishly skinny (thanks, Dad), so it's possible this won't be an issue for 99% of other people. :)

Okay so I will start off my saying I was super skeptical about this product. I have had some serious knee pain as the result of an injury. I wish I could say I injured myself playing sports or doing something cool, but that's not the case. I actually hurt my knee trying to do a wicked sweet air kick inside a dressing room, long story short my knee just dislocated itself and it continues to do so sporadically. I know I should go see a doctor, but I have like 100 reasons why I can't do that right now (none of them are good reasons) This was about two years ago, and I have tried a billion different braces, but most of them were bulky and uncomfortable! I put the brace through its paces since I received it may 5th. I am a avid hiker and have been expericing some knee pain on the descents and wanted to give something a try before I gave in to surgery. Well, May 13th I hiked a 4K footer using the Abco Tech Patella knee strap and I could honestly tell the difference. My knee felt like it should and it help immensely on decent. My knee was not throbbing after wards and the next day my knee felt great.
One thing I would recommend to users on the larger size as my self would be a knee sock. It can be hard to get the Velcro just right so you don't feel it on the back of you knee/calf.

Still playing racquetball at age 75. My mind tells me I'm still in my forties but my knees tell me year 75 kid.
