My elderly mother cannot drink coffee anymore so i thought that Chicory would be a really good alternative for her. It brews just like coffee and she loves it. She says that even though there is no kick ( No caffeine in Chicory) She can enjoy her morning coffee like she used to. Also, With this brand of chicory "coffee" it brews very strong, so , You don't need to use a lot to get a nice strong cup. It tastes even closer to real coffee if you like flavored creamers in your coffee like Liquid coffee mate Hazelnut or Irish cream creamer. If you can no longer drink coffee, you may very well be surprised by how good this brand of chicory it is. I'm not sure about other brands, I have read mixed reviews on other brands.

I was really missing coffee and wanted a caffeine free substitute. This brand of roasted chicory hits the spot. It is slightly bitter with a rich toasted taste and a fantastic substitute for coffee. It doesn't taste like coffee to me but it's a very satisfying substitute; highly recommend.

I have read about the benefits of chicory and wanted to get some that I can add to my coffee. It's important to know chicory will expand when you use it in this sense, so try making a half pot of coffee until you get the amounts/ratios right to your taste. I have a drip coffee maker and my friend uses a French Press. I used 2 scoops of coffee to 1 scoop of chicory totaling 3 scoops. That was about 6 cups of coffee. I have had chicory coffee before in New Orleans and I love the flavor. I also love that I can find this product in a organic fashion as well. Win, win in my book.
