This is a little smaller in diameter than the Bosu ball. But having used the Bosu at the PT and this one at home, I don't see any functional difference. If you're an extremely tall person, the ability to spread your legs just a little bit further might aid in center-of-balance exercises but that would be the only advantage. I'm a 6'1" 250# male and this works just as good for me as the Bosu and yet about 1/3 the price. I've had this for almost a year now and work with it 3x per week after having both lumbar laminectomy to relieve stenosis and hip replacement.
For the most part, a good product. Pump seems cheap and hard to use.

I was a little confused by the instructions for inflating the device. With a struggle and a lot of patience and determination, I got the job done. I found a helpful video online, pertaining to a similar product by another company. The pump looked quite similar. The woman in the video recommended turning the inflated half-ball on its rounded size, and using a tape measure to be certain its inflated height was not more than 22 centimeters. I am not sorry I bought this brand -- just relieved that my attempt to inflate it did not turn out to be an exercise in futility.

I had ankle surgery and used the half ball at my rehab facility frequently. I enjoyed the wide range of exercises you can do with these and I wanted one at home to continue my rehab outside of the visits, but the ones they have there are quite expensive. I tried the Sportneer model and I've been very pleased overall. I don't think it would survive the rehab facility, but for my solo home use, it does the job just fine at a fraction of the cost!
