Great product at a great price. I'm saving over 100$ per month by cutting the cable ball and chain with a one time purchase of ~30$. The owners manual is 24 pages long and includes instillation instructions as well as how to use the remote control efficiently. Most everything about the set up and use was intuitive. The manual was super helpful for the few things I didn't get right away. My biggest complaint is the error/information windows that pop up on screen are white text on light blue background. I have to be sitting near the screen or put my glasses on to see what they say. (Pretty small complaint!!).
The box itself has a tiny footprint.
I bought a thumb drive and formatted it. I've tried all the features including recording a program while I was away from home. Worked great. When getting into playback mode from my thumb drive I have to be patient. It takes 10 or 15 seconds to pull up the recording while there is a pop up that lets me know "it's working on it".
I have experience with a different brand of converter box/recorder. My Ematic AT102 puts the other brand to shame. It is just what I wanted, and it looks like I will be getting a second box to replace the under performing other brand.

Instructions to record programs for review later are not that people friendly. Instructions are somewhat complicated to understand.

I bought this to replace an RCA converter box, that I got a few years ago to control and record OTA television, and this box which does essentially the same thing, has a much more intuitive remote, with volume and' channel guide' functions,and it was pretty reasonably priced,you only need your own flash drive for recordings...

I bought this converter box to replace another Ematic Converter Box that had stopped working. This model offers the same Media options and recording abilities as the other one, and it is smaller. This model also comes with a detachable power supply, while the older model was wired in. While the previous converter box had visible lines moving across the screen, the lines seem wider with model. However, this is most likely an issue on my end.

good tuner I have a digital tv but its old and doesn't pick up some channels. the tuner on the box is great picks up every Channel. small and light wait.
