This thing was struggling with my old router and 4 other WiFi devices connected. 2 rooms away the reception was weak, lots of buffering and some lost connections. In the same room as the router it was better but still slow. Even so it outperformed some of the other devices. After I upgraded the router to an AC1900 Asus these issues are now gone. It sits in a USB port in a laptop and it works well even 2 rooms away on the same floor. I haven't really put it to a strenuous test but it has handled steaming and browsing without slowing down. It's small and so I can put the laptop down on the bed without worrying about it bending or even breaking and damaging the USB port due to bulk. If you experience WiFi problems at your home, especially in a heavily congested area like mine, then look at upgrading the router first before putting the blame on a WiFi adapter (I would suggest at least an AC1200 in this day and age).

My wife's HP laptop had already had the wireless card replaced under warranty and was, once again, dropping the home network constantly. I was glad to hear from a local tech that a USB wireless adapter might do the trick. I researched the dozens available. I was willing to pay a little more than the cheaper models to get: dual band capability, decent throughput numbers, a device that didn't stick out too far and be a risk for being broken off, and a 100% stable network connection to our Netgear Nighthawk X6 wireless router on a different level in our home. It achieved all goals.

The installation directions were a little vague, suggesting it would be automatically recognized by Windows 10. It wasn't. The HP has an optical drive so I used the install disc, which was reasonably straight-forward. Therefore, I can't vouch for how the installation would go downloading the driver online, if you don't have a CD/DVD drive.
I gave 4 stars for ease of installation because it took a little longer than I expected. 4 stars for durability because it's been in service for such a short period and is too soon to tell. 5 stars for value because it does what it says it will do!

Let me start by saying, I prefer wired connections for my internet and at this price point I honestly wasn't expecting much.

I was very happily surprised.

I had originally purchased this WiFi adapter to run on a mining setup, but the OS I was using didn't seem to recognize it. Since 8 had somehow used my last eternity cord I decided to try it in my Windows machine and it worked fantastic while I picked up a replacement ethernet cable. I was originally planning to return it since it did not work for the machine I had intended to use it on, but for the price and how well it worked I decided to keep it around as a backup.

As a side note, the seller also contacted me to make sure everything was good with the adapter. A nice personal touch that likely means support would be good if you needed it.

Easy to install drivers and get the device connected to the wireless network. Good price. Definitely recommend this adapter

The WIFI adapter met my expectations when using the device. The driver needed for Windows is Realtek rtl8811cu-software if your laptop doesn't recognize it and you don't have a CD drive. The support team responded promptly but I don't think it is necessary to have to contact the company to access the google drive to download the necessary files.
