It's an edge and it's straight

Seems pretty straight. Used to check engine block and head for warping. Comes with a plastic thing to protect the edge
A legit video review

The media could not be loaded. Comes well packaged. It's 1/4 steel so if it's truly damaged in shipping its been horribly roughed up. It comes with a plastic cover so once again would have to damage the plastic cover in order to get to the surface that's crucial. Back to the 1/4 it's heavy it's not a ruler. It's only 24 inches long you can't bend it with your bare hands it's not going to get damaged easily. Lastly surface test. Wood isn't straight if you want to do a comparison it needs to be something that's known to be straight. Such as a level, marble, or glass. The end is bare metal so don't forget to coat it with some oil after use to keep it from rusting.
It's straight

Heavy appears to e of good quality great foe the home user and a lot cheaper than a true machinists straight edge which cost about 10x more. placed against my precision could not insert a .001" feeler gauge
Seems to be a bit sturdier than the aluminium ones

Opted for this one vs. the cheaper ones as is a bit beefier and heavier. Figured the steel is less likely to get damaged and/or warp than the aluminum models. Good flat crisp edge and has good weight and feel. May not be as good as high end machinist grade but for the casual home mechanic it works just fine.
Flat as I can measure

The bar was shipped in a rigid cardboard tube so not even UPS could ding it up.
It is flat beyond my ability to measure. Much as I like Starret for some things I can't afford their version and I do not need that level of certification.

Nice and wide and heavy so it stays put.
