Papa Vince vs store brand
Karen Brown✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 10, 2017
I was very excited to compare Papa Vince olive oil to the normal olive oil I buy from the store.

I followed the directions on tasting the papa Vince olive oil and could definitely taste and see a difference.

In the picture on the left is the papa Vince olive oil. It is more opaque and thicker and sticks to the walls of the glass. Compare that to store brand which is much clearer and watery.

Papa Vince for the win!
100% SICILIAN Small-batch, Authentic Italian Restaurant Quality Lemon Infused Olive Oil!

This is the real deal. There is absolutely nothing fake or man-made in this lemon-infused olive oil. I ordered four bottles after I received a personal note from Vitina, letting me in in the new product. We're close like that! ;) All of their products are 100% products of Sicily so you DO get what you pay for.

As quickly as it showed up on my doorstep, I opened a bottle and took in the aroma. So fragrant, like your walking through a field of olive and lemon trees! I was already hooked. That night, I prepared a tomato, cucumber salad w/ aged balsamic and this SPECIAL olive oil. I did not tell my Sicilian husband anything, just wanted him to try it and see if he would notice anything. (I usually use organic first cold-pressed virgin olive oil but that's only when I run out of Pappa Vince's Original Olive Oil.) First thing my husband asked me was if I'd picked up the salad from our fave Italian restaurant! Ha! We devoured the salad in minutes...

Yes, it is a bit pricey but the quality is EXCEPTIONAL, like nothing I've found on the market. It's so fresh, the olive oil was even tested for quality and found to have unusually high levels of vitamin A, B6, E and even vitamin K1! Like I needed another reason to get hooked on this stuff.

The bottles hold 90ml or 3 fluid ounces but my first bottle lasted me through 2 main pasta dishes and 4 salads. A little goes a very long way! Highly recommend Papa Vince's Infused Olive Oil - YUMMM!!!
Not as good as California Olive Ranch

I truly think that this is a high quality, excellent tasting Olive Oil which is %100 pure. There are a lot of fake EVOOs out there, however I do not think this is one of them. I just wanted to say that I bought a bottle of this (and it wasn't cheap) as well as a bottle of California Olive Ranch oil for about half the price. I MUCH preferred the taste of the California bottle and I have already ordered another bottle. Their gold medal winning varieties simply cannot be matched by either taste or purity. I will not be buying Papa Vince's again in the future, but I'm glad that I tried it.
Well Worth The Extra Cost!

Some people love olive oil just for the taste. I am one of those people. As an American, I first discovered the rich taste that olive oil could provide, when I first tasted "fresh-from-the-orchard" olive oil while visiting Spain. When I returned to the States, at first I just couldn't seem to find an extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) that tasted anywhere near as rich as the Spanish olive oil had. After a while I discovered that, when you are buying EVOO "from the shelf," you really do generally get what you pay for. You can buy a bottle for $3.95, or you can spend $30 on the same size of a different brand (usually imported), and the difference in taste can be (and often is) huge. Eventually, I began shopping olive oil's online, from various other countries. And even there, the rule that "you get what you pay for" continued to apply. Again and again, the richest and most delicious EVOOs were some of the pricier ones from Spain and Italy. The Papa Vince Brand EVOO from Sicily is truly a treasure and a wonderful discovery. Yes, it is one of the pricier ones, but you are going to have to trust me here, if you are interested in a top notch experience with eating raw olive oil, you will want to spend a few dollars extra and get this one. It is just that good.
Ultra high quality.

So, you can go to a local grocery and buy off the shelf olive oil. Commercially processed and made by the thousands of gallons. If you are reading this then you are wondering if this oil is worth your table or your wondering why the hell would anyone pay such a price for cooking oil.
If you are the latter then go on to other things.
This oil is one of the very few I've tasted that is truly wonderful. Just like a true Modena balsamic vinegar you pay dearly for, true truffles or other condenments that are quality, this is a top quality product.
When the flavor of the oil must be perfect then this one is for you.
Heritage tomatoes off my vine sliced with fresh picked basil leaves and fresh cheese or fresh garlic or whatever you like drizzled with this oil: yum.
Scrambled eggs on toast with a drizzle, yum.
A chopped salad with a high quality balsamic and Pappa Vince drizzled over it, yum.
I'm happy. This oil is very much worth it's price. This is a ultra high quality finishing oil.
