iSTIM EV-805 TENS EMS 4 Channel Rechargeable Combo Machine Unit - Muscle Stimulator + Back Pain Relief and Management- 24 Programs/Backlit (Including Electrodes Pads)

Key features
- •TENS: "Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation"- a safe, non-invasive, drug free method of pain relief used by Physical Therapists and professional Doctors for over decades. By delivering stable pulses to the skin to stimulate nerve fibers, Tens unit could effectively block the pain signal to people's brain. At the same times, increases natural endorphins, which is a natural pain reliever. In many cases, the reduction or elimination of pain lasts longer than the actual period of stimulation
- •EMS: "Electrical Muscle Stimulation" is an internationally accepted and proven way of treating muscular injuries. It works by sending electronic pulses to the muscle needing treatment; this causes the muscle to exercise passively. When the muscle receives this signal it contracts as if the brain has sent the signal itself. As the signal strength increases, the muscle flexes as in physical exercise. Then when the pulse ceases, the muscle relaxes and the cycle starts over again.
- •iSTIM EV-805: Rechargeable Digital TENS EMS combo stimulator comes with 4 channels, 5 TENS modes, 3 EMS modes and 24 preset programs, sending comfortable impulses through the skin that stimulate the nerve fibers in the treatment area. Effectively Block the pain signal to your brain! Safe and highly effective stimulation helps for treating chronic or acute pain (e.g. shoulder tension, back pain, arthritic, knee pain) and provides muscle relaxation and muscle strengthening.
- •JAPANESE ELECTRODE PADS: High-grade, and biocompatible SEKISUI Japanese gel, which facilitates efficient conducting of the electrical stimulator's current to the patient's skin in a dispersed manner. 100% SEKISUI Japanese Gel is the harmless ingredients and the best fit for even sensitive skin users. Use the iStim EV-804 with our best electrodes, making your every pain relief treatment more effective with perfect and comfortable experience [NOTE: DO NOT USE Extra Electrode Gel]

This is a great item. It's easy to use, comes with everything you need to operate it, and even comes with clear instructions for how to operate the device as well as how to place the electrodes for different uses. It's compact and easy to store. Using the device feels like tapping or vibrating on your muscles. It was pain free. I would recommend!
Pleasantly surprised! Helped with atrophy

I bought this for the EMS function. I've been dealing with a chronic illness for the last few years, and unfortunately it led to muscle atrophy in my legs because there was no way for me to be active. On top of that, one of the medications I tried for the chronic illness caused joint degeneration on my knees, so my ability to walk has been greatly decreased. My doctor recommended physical therapy, which I totally agree with but can't afford right now, so I bought this to help get some strength back in my leg muscles. I honestly didn't think it was going to do much, if anything, but if it didn't I'd at least still be able to use it as a TENS for pain. I've been using it daily for about a week on my quads, starting with my right leg because it's weaker than my left, and after a few days I actually noticed a difference! Son of a biscuit! It's so much easier for me to get up from a seated position, and I can actually manage going up and down stairs leading with my right leg now! I literally cried. I haven't been able to go up and down stairs like normal for about 2 years, and I was able to just the other day (still slow, but not one stair at a time like I had been doing). For reference, I'm in my mid 30s.
That being said, the device itself is a bit more complicated than ideal. I haven't played with dialing in settings myself; I've been using the programs it has for EMS. Comes with a couple very handy diagram sheets with what program numbers should be used on what areas (one sheet for TENS and one for EMS), and each one runs for 30 minutes. So I hook up my right quad, and rotate through EMS programs for a total of about 2 hours a day. Much more than that and I need a day off because my leg ends up sore. After the initial charge, the battery has lasted a whole week of daily use (minus one rest day) and hasn't given me a low battery alert yet. I saw some other reviews saying they need to put the strength up to 8 or 9 and was worried that this device wouldn't be strong enough, but I had to start out at 3, lol. I'm at a 5 or 6 now, depending on the program.
The adhesive pads are alright. I've had two other TENS devices with different types of pads; these are about average. The fabric is soft enough that it can contour to different areas without peeling itself off. The adhesive itself isn't anything to write home about; in one week, using one pair of electrodes at a time, I've about finished my second set of pads. I've been keeping the pads on the plastic sheet they come on and in a Ziploc bag between uses. I have *not* been wiping down my skin with an alcohol pad before use, so your mileage may vary should you choose to do that.
This device is enough that if doing physical therapy seems impossible (physically or financially), this may give you the boost you need. It's also really easy to put on and forget about while it runs, so it won't interrupt other activities; the EMS programs don't cause my muscles to jerk like a TENS usually does. Overall, if you're dealing with muscle atrophy after illness, I'd say this is worth it. At the price of about 3 physical therapy copays it's not cheap, but it's enough to help me get to where I can do exercises at home and build myself back up.

I have a number of injuries from an assault. All of the muscles were ripped completely in both of my rotator cuffs and surgery was required. I have sciatic issues, scoliosis, spinal stenosis .... Neuropathy in my feet has been pretty bad too. This unit has been a godsend.... especially since it has four channels. It helps calm the pain and permit me to be productive. I did have an issue where one of the channels lost its pin. When I contacted the seller they immediately sent a replacement. Somewhere in transit, the screen was broken so they sent a replacement immediately (I sent both of the other units back.) I am beyond pleased with the unit and with the customer service provided and highly recommend this TENS Unit. Now, the only drawback is no ones problem but mine.... I was born with a lot of hair and have even more now all over my body have a century later. So it is often difficult for the pads to stay put. I'm trying to find the best pads and adhesive.... But this unit is 1000% recommended! And Thank you to the seller!

Would have given 5 stars but the instructions were poor. Took a PT and OT therapists and me to figure it out. Once we got it figured out, it works great. Purchased for my husband who is recovering from a severe stroke.
He uses it 3 times a day and has used it for 30 minutes each time and for about 4 days and haven't had to recharge it yet.
