This machine has the beautiful stitch quality of the Bernina line of sewing machines, even though it costs much less. Some previous reviews said it did not stitch as well on heavy fabric (think wool suiting) but I am using it for quilt making--cotton fabrics--and I could not be happier with it. It is very light, so good to take to a class and extremely easy to use. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I liked the Bernette b37 enough to order it twice. The first time a piece of the plastic on the removable accessory case was broken and the accessory package was missing. I sent it back and ordered a second one.
The second one came and had almost all the accessories - one of the bonus products was not included - then I noticed the drop-feed-dog lever in the back of the machine was almost impossible to switch to the right or left. I had tried this lever on the first machine and it moved easily - so, I was not happy with this problem. I am somewhat elderly and do have some pain in my hands off and on - but I had an indention in my thumb for hours after pushing extremely hard on this lever. I didn't want to, but I decided to send the machine back. It is too nice of a machine for me to have to get my husband to come move the lever every time I want to drop the feed dog! I hope my third machine will be "just right" and I won't have to order another one! It is worth buying online to save money, but this time I think I will be going to a dealer to try it out before taking it home! The machine itself is a great machine for a beginner.
