We had terrible ice dams on our roof this year. We used the wrap to warm up the downspout so that water could drain off the roof. Hard to know how sturdy it is after only one season of use but it was definitely helpful when combined with hired roof shovelers

I've had this on a vulnerable area of flat roof for 4 winters now and it's been trouble free. I'm a little concerned now because there is a spot on the back side that looks like it's been very hot. Probably will replace for this season.

My roof valley had a bad ice dam last year and I wanted to make sure it didn't happen this year, so after doing some research, found that this would probably be my best bet. It was super easy to install, I was a little worried about putting screws into my roof, so I bought some roof patch caulk to cover the screw heads. Once I got on the roof and put the firdt screw in, I realized the screws are short enough that they don't touch the sheeting so you don't really need to worry about leaks. I went ahead an put the caulk on just to ease my mind though. We finally got snow, so I plugged it in, and it works great!

This roof mat was put on our roof 2 weeks ago , after a storm dumped 11" of snow in Northern Minnesota.
We removed most of the snow from the problem area, had this mat put down, with the mat hanging slightly over the roof edge.. Watched as the ice melted and dripped Nicely off the roof.. When snow was gone, we unplugged the mat.
We have had ice dam problems In the past, contractor design problem...

1/18/2020 another blizzard, 8-10 " of snow with 40 mile / hr. winds. Windchill -35
Stunned to watch the top of this mat, clear of snow, which was melting, dripping off the end of the mat @ 35 below zero!
No more getting someone on the roof to chip, hammer ice, no roof rake, no THICK ice dam, no leaks inside!!
This doesn't solve the contractor design problem. It does stop the ice dam, leaking, damage problem.

Update April 2 2020...blizzard with 10" of snow. This roof mat system is awesome, snow melted fast, No Ice Dams this year since purchase. Highly recommend â£ï¸
