I developed cmc joint problems several years ago. I am in my fifties and very active, so finding a brace that would help the pain and stand up to heavy use has been an issue.
I have problems with both hands, but one is much worse than the other, so different braces have worked out best for each hand. I use this brace almost every day on the left hand. My left has some muscle atrophy on the outer edge of my hand (opposite the thumb), so I prefer this brace because the strap running around the hand is softer than the rigid plastic that curves around the hand in my other favorite make.
The only shortcoming with this brace is that although you can buy replacement straps separately, you cannot purchase the Velcro closures separately. I hate having to purchase a whole new brace just because the closure has fallen apart. If not for that, this brace would be a good value, as well as a good brace. If replacement closures could be purchased separately, I would use these on both hands, all the time.

I've been using it for about 3 days now. has taken some getting used to and does restrict some movement. also, if I try to grab something too tightly, I can feel the metal inside pressing hard against my thumb, so I highly recommend using the include cloth pad. I think I can get used to it though, and I do think it helps avoid some of the pain, so much so, I decided to order one for my left hand, too.

I purchased both this and the Push model at the same time to compare. The stiff plastic portion on the Push extends further across the palm and I felt that it forced the thumb more into the palm which was not comfortable to me. This Basko model, with the shorter stiff plastic piece, is more comfortable to me. Both seem well-made. The Basko gives more leeway for sizing "” the push is more specific and has more sizes to choose from, but is not customizable, whereas the Basko is. The Basko also came with an extra strap. The Basko has a single strap 2cm wide, whereas the push strap divides in 2 as it crosses the back of the hand. I found the Basko more comfortable all around, and much easier to put on than the Push.
I highly recommend comparing the two side-by-side. Also, Push quickly agreed to refund as long as I paid return shipping.

This gives great thumb support and still gives your wrist the ability to move so it doesn't stiffen. I wish it came with another liner because I already lost the one it came with but I should have kept it together in the awesome bag it came with! I love that it comes with extra Velcro!

This brace has helped my hand tremendously. I have arthritis in that joint and it is extremely painful. I've been getting it injected every three months on the dot. I used a different price in the past which did not help to reduce the pain. This brace worked so much better, and is very comfortable. I wear to do as much as I can. However, I am an infusion nurse, and cannot wear it at work.
