Fixed water heater thermal cutoff on first fire up

Old thermal cutoff was installed improperly close to the burner tube so the thermal cutoff got toasted. Continuity test confirmed toasted factory cutoff. Installed new thermal cutoff purchased here on Amazon (decently priced considering a quick fix and not having to deal with an RV dealer) and the water heater didn't initially fire right up. This isn't the new thermal cutoff's fault. Make sure that if your having water heater issues that you turn off the propane then back on. This helps reset the safety cutoff from what I've read. After cycling the propane on/off water heater finally fired up.

I was fixing a friend's hot water heater in their camper. The tech said it was the board and I didn't think it was. I mean why wouldn't you just buy the cheap part first in the process of elimination. They replaced the board of course per the tech and it still didn't work. I popped one of these in and bingo the tank fired right up
