They stop getting burned on the edge, but can'tslide baking dishes over them. Took them out, hope to find alternative use eventually. Might try to tape them on my drumsticks for better grip.

They slip in place metal racks for ovens, toaster ovens, & wire racks to keep items from rolls off. They are designed to keep you from getting burn. We were looking a upright freezers that had wire shelving. I was thinking they could be used to snap in place ( front to back ) to separate items. Use them in refrigerators to keep tall bottles from rolling around that you can't stand up. Hope they work for you. I know they have kept my wife from getting burned few times after I installed them.
