Looks exactly as pictured-but batteries were confusing

I purchased 2 of these knives in red. One to keep one in my car and one by my nightstand. Everything came just as pictures and the blade was very sharp, the whole mechanism is in great condition and sturdy. But when I opened them, I could not figure out the batteries for the flashlight part! First of all, It was a little hard to find, But I pointed it out on my photo attached.
The package included a sleeve of 4 little batteries uninstalled from the knife. So I opened them and I'm sitting here twisting and turning this little light, trying to force the new batteries in and putting different amounts of 1, 2 or 4 and trying different placements and It was just very frustrating to try to get the thing to work and understand the instructions. I almost returned the knife to buy something else but I hopped back on amazon to check out other reviews and FAQs.
After reading other comments, I think a bunch of us had the same confusion: Turns out the package came with that sleeve of 4 little batteries there were also 4 ADDITIONAL batteries already in the light as well. (so a total of 8 batteries per knife). And that's why I couldn't get the new ones in.
So the trick when you first open the package for your knofe is to take the little flashlight part off,
Unscrew the bottom and tap it on the counter so the batteries fall out, (it should be a set of 4 that are bound together with plastic)
take off that plastic wrap and re-insert them back into the tube, (However, putting batteries back in 1 by 1 is hard because the magnet makes them turn sideways in the tube.)
so instead, stack all 4 of the batteries on your counter with the flat part of the batteries facing up,
then slide the flashlight tube on top of the batteries and flip it over so you can then screw in the top part of the flashlight. You'll see the light turn on after you screw it in all the way.
To turn the light off, just lightly unscrew it and it can be stored back in the knife like that.
So then after all that, if your package came like mine, you will end up with 4 extra batteries for future use, and 4 batteries in the knife right now. phew! Once I got that situated I decided I liked this knife. I think it's super practical for the car and feeling safe at home. It's cool to have the seatbelt cutter and windshield breaker although I hope to never have to use that. Im curious about the fire starter too and might try that next time im out camping. But the flashlight and the fact that its in the same direction as the blade is an important feature for me to have with it so I'm glad I got it to work! Great value for the price!

First off, great budget purchase. Second - This is NOT my EDC - it IS NOT (shouldn't be anyways) meant as a primary bushcraft/camp knife. Not for battoning wood, or building a house on the prairie. The blade comes sharpened, the little flashlight in it works excellent for it's size (if you are smart enough to open it and remove the black contact liner) and even comes with a backup set of batteries (easy to lose, look out)
The cheap nylon belt pouch is... Cheap. The knife is to small to fit it well, but the box it comes in, does fit. This is not a bad thing actually, it leaves a bit of space for adding a few extra, small items (like a sharpening rod/small stone, a small lighter, a bit of bank line, etc) I plan to keep this in a pack, not on my belt anyways. The pocket clip would be better for carrying all the time, in my opinion.
The little Ferro rod is... Little. I assume it works like most of it's kind, I haven't stripped the outer layer off to waste it yet. One of my only complaints really, is the silly "bottle opener" cut out on the spine of the blade. It already has the sorta "seatbelt/ropecutter" tool along with the glass breaker at the bottom of the grip that would handle that just fine. Since it comes with a ferrorod/firestriker, a continuous, 90° spine for the blade would seem more helpful, and stronger. Maybe it saves them 2-10¢ per blade of material?
The action to open it, is slightly stiff; as a new knife should be. It's clearly not a flipper, nor does it suggest it is - the thumb stud works fine. Ergonomics are not ideal, but most combos that add gimmicks (like flashlight/firestarter) are not. It does sit in the hand just fine though.
All in all - (for the price especially) 5 stars. Useful, portable, it does everything I expect it to as backup, utility item in a pack, or car console.

Better than expected

Let's be honest here: for the price, I figured it would be suitable for riding around in a tackle box, or something along those lines. Instead, it has become my EDC for the last several months. The unknown steel holds a decent edge for a reasonable amount of time, the fire steel works, as does the silly little light.
Well done.

Batteries?

I was confused about what I was supposed to do with the small batteries, I luckily figured it out. Great except no instructions to show me or tell me how to strike the side to make fire
Does it's job at a cheap price

It does what it's supposed to. Would be nice if the flint was a match strike lighter instead, you gotta scratch away the black paint on the flint first before it starts to spark up. Would pay more for better metal on the knife. Glass breaker looks like you'll have to use full force to break a window. Light is bright enough in a pinch. Seat belt cutter is Hella sharp.
