I really only write reviews for things that are either wonderful or awful...and this, my friends, is one of my most wonderful purchases! I'm not all that creatively inclined, but am taking this time in quarantine to learn new things. Weaving my own wall hanging was something I decided to try, and needed an inexpensive loom to do so (because, in the likely event that I sucked at it, I didn't want to drop a ton of money on something I'd never use again). But ladies and gents, I have to say, I think my first attempt was a success! The directions that came with this were actually very helpful to get started, then I just looked up some YouTube tutorials on designs I liked to give me an idea of different techniques. ~6 hours later, and my masterpiece was complete! Make sure you buy ample supplies of all the materials you want for the weave, along with needles if you want to use those (they aren't included). I looked up designs I liked and then researched similar yarns to have on hand. In some of the reviews, it seemed like people needed to sand parts of this down to make it smoother, but I didn't have any issues with that and didn't need to alter a thing about it. If you're looking for a new hobby, or something fun to pass the time while you're stuck at home, BUY THIS NOW. You won't regret it.

I thought this was a toy but I find it quite good for the price. I expected the wood to be really weak and for it to be easily broken. It isn't easy to break and with some muscle on the wing nuts you can get the tension firm enough to try tapestry weaving.

I wanted to test out if I liked weaving and so this loom seemed the best bang for the buck and that it would provide the basic concept of plain weaving. I have even experimented and tried various types of pattern weaving by making my own pick up sticks. I have tried using Aunt Lydia's size 10 crochet thread on it and Lion brand 247 cotton yarn on it and it works well. It is easy to prop up on a jar or table edge to get it to work either sitting or standing. The heddle bar is quite good and makes all the difference in being able to weave faster. With the purchase of a few c clamps at the hardware store you can weave longer lengths. The shuttle sticks and comb that come with it are also quite good for the price.

Tip- Also purchase some good quality cotton or wool yarn like Lion brand 247 or Hobium cotton and a good quality cotton warp thread to get the most of this cheaper little loom and you'll be satisfied with it. I have also used cotton crochet thread and it looks great. Using acrylic yarn though will drive you crazy.

I wish I could add photos to this review but for some reason I can't. The reason I want the photos attached is to disprove most people's negative reviews about this product. A lot of them are saying that they got a used loom and there was still work attached to it. This loom comes with a piece of paper outside of the box and on the paper the first thing it says is that the loom is set up for you and already has a sample started on it for you. Which is pretty awesome. I'm not sure how anyone could have missed that... Must be they just didn't read the paper at all which would make sense why they gave it a poor review seeing how that paper is the instructions on how to use this loom. This will be a continued review because I haven't used it a ton just yet. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone second guessing about getting this loom due to those negative reviews.

I absolutely love this loom! I use it myself. It's super easy to use, especially with 3 small children running around beside me. It did take me a second to figure out my rhythm with it. But I definitely recommend if your looking for a beginner loom!!

Yes. This came with NO instructions, but that's why we have the internet. (or the library if you're old school) The seller even includes website addresses so you can hit up youtube.com asap. This is a small loom, so you are not going to weave large items, but! The "wrap bar" they include makes this SO easy and many small/beginner looms don't have something like this. (You place your warp strings on it and when you rock it one way it lifts one set of strings so you can pass your yarn through; rock it the other and it lifts the other set for easy over/under weaving) Just by watching little tutorial videos I've learned so much and so far I've made a small mat (jewelry dish sitting on it currently) and lots of bookmarks. For the price, you can not go wrong. Be prepared to start craving yarn & weaving materials. Highly recommend for adults. Kids may have a tougher time as you do need decent coordination to work on a project.
