I'm curvy and need some help keeping things in place. Generally, I wear a 10/12. The L/XL is what I purchased, and it fits. Note that it is a workout to get it on, but once you're there, it's comfortable enough.

Pros: the stays keep it up so it doesn't roll down when you alternate between sitting/standing/bending over; it seems rather breathable; it's long enough to keep my thighs from rubbing together; I didn't notice anything cutting into me anywhere

Cons: the bands around the legs will show through pants: I recommend wearing this with looser skirts/dresses/maybe palazzo pants; getting it off to use the toilet will be a chore depending on what you're wearing - fortunately I only had it on for a couple of hours so I was able to hold off Mother Nature; if you can't pull the sides of your bra over the top of it, you will have a bulge of flesh between the garment top and your bra strap, which may or may not be an issue, depending on what you're wearing over it.

Overall, I'm pleased with it. It does the job and the price was right. It was supportive enough for my needs.

The long descriptive review:
This is my first time buying shapewear so I had a lot of thoughts.

First of all, to the women who claim wearing shapewear means you're "lying to people about your looks," give me a BREAK. These same ladies wear push-up bras, eyeliner, fake lashes, fake nails, colored contact lenses, hair extensions, pluck their eyebrows, shave their legs, or dye their hair. We are women and we like using cosmetics to look nice. Shapewear is a cosmetic thing.

There are certain outfits I have that look off on certain areas of my body and this is the cosmetic solution to fix it. (As you get older, it'll happen to you too.)

As you can see in the photos I'm not lying about anything! I am a thicc, shapely woman, but it's nice to be able to smooth some of those shapes out so certain outfits look really nice! In this photo I'm wearing high-rise stretchy jeans and a t-shirt. My shapes might look even nicer if I wore a push-up bra! I'm not trying to look slimmer. My goal is to look smoother, and it worked!

I also chose this particular shapewear because it does not have the number one shapewear complaint of rolling down one's body. It stays up really well! I've been sitting and standing and working in mine all day to give it a real test drive and I'm sold!

It's also comfy. I can still breathe normally! I don't feel restricted in any way. No hurt back either.

I ordered these for a friends wedding, I had also spent $100 on a pair of "Spanx" that we're supposedly super incredible. I sent the more expensive pair back as soon as I tried these on. Robert Matthew's shapewear is nothing short of amazing. The boning/ribbing is not uncomfortable and doesn't poke or anything. There's no rolling from the top like you end up with from so many shapewear products. The Bride and several bridesmaids even ended up ordering a pair to replace their "super awesome name brand ones". I followed the size guidelines/measurements and they fit perfectly. I lost a good amount of weight between ordering them and the actual wedding, but was still in the same size category. I considered ordering a second pair, but these remained their elasticity enough that they still worked amazing. I will likely order again in the future.

I LOVE this version, but will say, it would be nice if there was also the option to order a pair with a gusset as well-for certain situations.

So I bought this body shaper for a special event coming up. It arrived in great condition, well-packed and all that. I tried it on for size - all good. It snugs in at all the right places, and does not feel like it is rolling up/ down while at the same time I can breathe. There's just one small problem that I can foresee... there's no crotch opening. I will be wearing a dress and a crinoline with this. I'm trying to imagine being in a tiny stall in a public restroom trying to wrestle this thing down past all that AND worse still, back up. The event is eight hours long, so it will be an interesting time. I'm giving it a go because it really does a good job at shaping which is its primary function. However, I would ask the manufacturer to have a heart. Once you have all that spandex situated just so, you sure don't want to have to do it over and over again. Let's face it, most women will reserve this type of undergarment for special occasions where she is already putting up with heels, netting, slips, static cling, push-up bras, and heaven forbid hosiery. The least manufacturers can do is make going to the bathroom an activity that doesn't require two lady's maids and a crowbar.

I recently had a procedure done and was advised to buy spanx. I chose to order this one and I also bought a pair of spanx at the store so I could switch off. I love this one the most. My only complaint is there were no washing instructions and for someone like me I just threw it in the wash with clothes and it got the little balls on it. I was pretty bummed because it irritates my skin. But other than that the fit is great. I did like how it stays up compared to the other one I wear that rolls down. I do think they should make a small and medium separate because the s/m fit well but then I felt like after wearing it it lost some elasticity possibly or I shrunk from my procedure. I tried to order the ca but it was too small for me. Overall I would recommend this for the price point and how comfortable it is. Don't wash it like I did. May need a hand wash and air dry. But I've been wearing it mostly for the past month and do like it. Just wish the balls didn't bother me so much. But hands down better than the 60 spanx I also bought from the store.
