I Love My Govee Lights!
David Blauvelt✓ Verified Purchase•September 19, 2023
The media could not be loaded. I only use Govee LEDs. I recently installed these in our finished basement to create some mood lighting behind our smaller TV. We enjoy using them to set themes for parties and movie showings. I really enjoy how they can be connected with our T2 TV backlighting in Dreamview mode to create an entire experience.
There's no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it!

The media could not be loaded. My wife uses a power wheelchair when having to walk long distances. The problem is in the evening when it gets dark, people can't see her. I've tried a couple other LED light strips to light up the bottom of her chair, but both failed in a short period of time. I paid a few dollars more for this one and glad I did because it seems much better built than the cheap previous ones. Only time will tell. I like the tackiness of the adhesive. It seems to hold well. But I did use zip ties in crucial areas since most of the bars I ran it across were round instead of flat. The manual (yes, it really does come with a manual) shows how to loop around a corner which really came in handy.
The Govee is meant for the back of a TV but since it's waterproof and shorter than most, I thought outside the box and saw it as the perfect LED Light strip for her chair. What really drew me to the Govee is the ability to use an app instead of a cheap remote. On both previous strips, the remote had to be in very close proximity to the receiver, which meant she could not sit normal in the chair and change the lights. She had to lean over and aim the remote under the seat to adjust the lights. The Govee app uses bluetooth and does not have this problem. My wife loves the app because it comes with many saved preset themes ie. Christmas, Halloween, Party, Fireworks, New Years Eve...etc. Each of these use different colors and different rotations/blinking. There's no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it! The app also allows the user to choose their own colors and strobing or just select one solid color. The one minor detail she wishes the app had is the ability to create/save her own theme for later use. (hint to programmers)
Important Note: the Govee LED Strip does not come with any kind of power source. There's no battery pack. It's made to plug into the USB port of the TV. All it has is a normal USB Type-A connector. This is the normal rectangular end that would plug into a charger plug. It seems we have all kinds of external USB batteries around the house, so one of these will be dedicated to staying with the chair. We just have to remember to recharge the external USB when we charge the chair. Why the chair doesn't have a USB port somewhere is a whole different topic.

I'm a 60 year old guy stumbling through sobriety 16 months. And I found that I love building models again. And buying things in Amazon! And then? Find more things on Amazon! And then? Waiting for UPS LOL, highlight of my day beats sitting in a Tavern sucking Jack Daniels. I'll tell you that. J. C.! Anyway, I can't say enough about these lights. I'm just getting with the times with all this Amazon and settings. Can I hear someone say give me one more setting? Settings settings settings I'm a sound head and I'm obsessed with sound everything's got to be in digital BTS. Quick just right so why don't they have one button? And all your audio settings that says best. The best best! Okay back to the review. , this thing rocks for twenty bucks. That's what two shots of Jack. ? It's so cool. Even I can do it. And the USB thing stopped me for a minute, but one of the many desk lamps I buy from an Amazon have a USB. So I plugged it into that and that was kind of Tippy tip the darn thing over. So I went to the dollar store and bought the adapter for 4 bucks. Cheap Chinese crap, but it's cool and it's black. Anyway This thing rocks. I haven't even played with the app, but looks like I'm still trying to figure out the Hot Wheels ID app for chrissakes. I get out of load some kind of a scanner, you know, that does not UPC labels, but you know those squiggly squares? So haven't tried the app yet. I'll have to read on for reviews to see what the apps all about. Yeah, it would be nice if it had a remote and you could have the remote, you know on your couch, but I guess that would that's what the apps for. Let's hope you don't have to have an iPhone 10 million to use it. Haven't tried it yet to be continued. Good gear, highly recommended packs great looks to me like it's German and they even give you a little alcohol swab too bad to wipe off. Like if you want to put it behind your TV or in any surface because what this is is a strip of like really intricate LEDs that are more like a silicone gel. And then the adhesive is on the back of that strip there about a half inch wide by maybe 1/8 inch thick. So if that helps and they're really cool. So good luck. I got to look into it. I think you can add more on my and I haven't even done yet from the Real to Reel La canister thing it comes in but there's probably a female or male like Christmas lights you can continue or maybe they want you to buy another one will see We'll see. Period. Well anyway. I smoked about 4 bowls and I'm listening to Grand Funk to this. Lights and I have it in the music mode and it's dead nuts man and almost looks like the old house Telegraph Vu meter in high school. I don't know old Kenwood or Pioneer 8-track player. Anybody knows what a Vu meter is. Good night. I live in Buffalo. -4 and snowing scooter Time song Take a look at these little toys. I want to ride the real one. Duck Inn! Talk t u c k Sorry, I talk I don't type. Haven't figured out the voice recognition thing yet.

The app is really near albeit slightly frustrating once it had me create a profile but I love these lights. The adhesive could be better but still good. I'd still buy it again.
Size support is incorrect
Adam T.✓ Verified Purchase•August 4, 2023
This would never support a 50" TV, do not buy for anything less than 32-35", other than that nice product and works as intended.
