This came packaged well; the hat was placed onto a plastic form/insert, and wrapped in plastic. And then boxed.
The band on my hat was also mis-centered. I'm an Artist/Craft person so I found it easy to carefully dislodge the band from the hat, all the way around.
Hot melt glue was used originally, so it is flexible and wasn't too difficult to pull it away from the hat.
It took me maybe 45 minutes, I peeled off all the remaining glue..and I recentered the band (I didn't have to un knot it, if you are are careful you won't stretch it).
I used my favorite "Amazing Goop", the one in the bronze tube with red lettering. I used a small wooden skewer to push the glue behind the band, took my time and worked from the front center (under the large cabachon) re attaching it, and re centering as I went.
The adhesive allows for some adjustment time.
Now to remove the old glue I used a small old serrated knife. I think it was a cheese knife, it has tines on the end.
That is my homemade "saw" device....just be careful if you have to recenter the band on your hat, not to cut through the string that runs through the beads on the banding. If you break the string you'll have to re-string the beads.
Granddaughter loves the hat...and I'm going to get one for myself ðŸ‘
