Love this Dutch Oven

This dutch oven obviously is very heavy as it is cast iron but I love knowing that it isn't releasing toxic chemicals in my food. I also like that if I have to I can use this over a camp fire - not ideal for the outside coating I know but when the power goes out and I can't use my oven I at least have this as an option. I just started canning and many recipes ask for a heavy bottom pot so this is great. It's large for all those vegetables and fruits that you can all at once. I do love the creamy white inside, I'm used to Teflon and stainless steal so this for some reason makes me happy.

I have always wanted one of these, but they are usually so expensive! This one is priced well and I got it on sale! The color is gorgeous (got the teal)! It's the heaviest thing in my kitchen besides the fridge! It's so versatile and easy to clean. Never put it in the dishwasher or let sit too long in the sink. Take care of it like your cast iron skillet. So far no stains - and cook a LOT with turmeric! This works perfectly on an induction stove and heats very evenly. Metal handles and lid can get really hot! And remember... it's HEAVY! I love it so much! (Oh... also mega roomy for any soups or chilis!)

For those of you on the fence about purchasing this cast iron pot due to price, consider this. This is a quality item that will last for decades provided you take proper care of it. I purchased this pot and used sever times now. I can tell you the pot is not cheap in terms of quality. So think of this as a one time purchase that'll last for decades. Do that and you'll realize that the price is actually more than reasonable.

In over 50 years of cooking for a large family, I had never had a proper Dutch oven because I wasn't willing to spend what I thought I would have to spend to get one worth having. This one was a fraction of the fancy-brand ones, but I can't imagine anything could function better. I've used it for both stove-top and in-oven meals and in both cases, it heated quickly and evenly and retained heat well, and was an absolute charm to clean inside and out, with very little effort. (Bonus: roast chicken with no oven mess!) It's also very attractive and matches my kitchen, so I leave it on my stovetop rather than hide it in a cupboard and have to heft it out every time. I anticipate using it very frequently this winter.

This is a beautiful, heavy and well made oven. I couldn't bring myself to pay several hundred $ for a dutch oven. I read a lot of reviews and decided to try this one. I'm very happy that i did. The blue exterior is beautiful and i love how the pristime white enamel interior makes it so easy to clean. It very easily fits a whole chicken, along with lots of veggies. I'll be using this quite a lot this winter 😊
